Initially I had went in to see if there was a replacement for the fan I was looking for. Since a lot of the store has used fans that still work, I was hoping that they would originally have the exact fan. After approaching an employee, I handed over the fan that I had previously removed from my tower and asked if they had a replacement or another alike to it. He states that he needed to know what processor my computer was, and I hand over the information of my specs (unsure why this was relevant). He gives me a fan that is somewhat similar in looks, though in actuality is not even close to what I was looking for... He states that I could just "snap in" the fan and screw in two sides and it would work "just as good". We head to the front, and I pay for the fan along with some cooling paste which they labeled on the receipt as 'grease'. After looking up said cooling paste, they sell 100 tubes of this stuff for around $14-$17; And for one tube I was charged $5.99. I ended up calling the store and a woman answered the phone and offered to help me if I brought back in the PC since it was suffering from severe CPU cooling issues (due to the wrong fan I was sold by their employee) but I ended up ordering the exact fan off of Amazon and replacing it myself. I honestly feel like I was scammed or just not understood and I am never coming back due to this.
Also, I can't remember for the life of me who the woman was that answered the phone but serious thanks for her helping me through trying to figure out what went wrong and reassuring me that even if the fan they sold me was snapped off in places, they'd be willing to replace it since it was initially used. That is good customer service, it's the shame the other guy didn't seem to know how to properly identify the correct fan and overpricing the paste.
The name on said order would be Cyrina Wilkerson, and you sold me "Silver thermal Grease" & LGA 1170 used stock fan. The fan I bought off of Amazon that was a perfect fit and the previous one that I brought in physically to the store is a i50 CPU Cooler - 92mm Low Noise Cooling Fan & Heatsink(RH-I50-20FK-R1) - for Intel Socket LGA 1150/1151 / 1155/1156.
Also, before I had realized that the fan I put into my computer was the culprit, a friend ended up calling back here to see if I could get the cooling paste replaced since for some reason I dobuted that maybe I put too little or too much on... And he was told it would be somewhere between $60-$95 dollars (called a few places and can't remember the exact price, though within that range) which is...

On the afternoon before a sold out weekend at an area hotel, the hotel lost all internet throughout the property. This weekend just happened to be the same weekend that the hotel's IT specialist was out of town. I called Re-Compute to see if there was anyway that they could fit us in because we had no other way to fix this internet issue. Matt took down my name and phone number and said their schedule was full for the afternoon, but that he'd contact the owner, Dave, and see if they could fit us in. Less then five minutes later, Matt called me back and said that Dave agreed to come and he would be there in a few hours.
Dave showed up to the property and immediately found the issue. He ran to his shop, got a new router, hooked it up, and had internet back to the hotel after I spent five hours on the phone with our IT provider and Spectrum, but still had no internet.
As the manager of a local business, I highly recommend contacting Dave and/or Re-Compute for any technology needs. Dave not only was personable, friendly, and extremely helpful, but I could tell that he sincerely cared. As a business owner himself, he understood how important it was for us as a sold out hotel to get our internet back up and running. Additionally, Dave came to the property at 6:30PM and stayed until after 8:00PM to ensure everything was working properly. Dave corresponded with our IT specialist, too.
Finally, I would like to mention that Dave did all of this for us when we had never even worked with him before. Dave came and provided fast, top quality service all with a friendly smile. I truly cannot thank Dave enough. I also cannot say enough good things about him.
Thank you Matt and Dave for all of your help on a very stressful night. I and the hotel will always refer anyone with computer and/or technology needs to you! Thank you again for everything that you did for us yesterday. We are sincerely grateful.

Read moreI ordered a Laptop battery and cable for an older Dell laptop from them. After a few days, I went in to pick it up and paid for it. After getting home, I opened it up, and the battery looked old. Even though someone had cleaned it up, it also had a significant dent in the storm. The cable that was already plugged into the battery and very clean till I unplugged it, and a bunch of dog hair fell out of it. I still installed it into the computer and attempted to charge it. But it would not take charge and all troubleshooting pointed to a bad battery. I tore my laptop back apart and realized the build date in the battery was over 7 years old. I checked the internet and they had charged me the full price for a new battery for this model. I called recompute the next day and they seemed to be ready for this call. And tried to get me to bring the computer in for them to troubleshoot it. Had to drive all the way back to Bozeman to get a refund. They never tried to explain anything and implied it was my fault it didn't work till I told them it was a 7-year-old battery. They still acted like I was the problem and have my part of my money back. And told me not to come back. Very unprofessional, I believe they did that to try and charge me shop time to fix it. Unfortunately, I'm a cybersecurity student and can take care of my own troubleshooting. I keep hearing about business in the area turning into this kinda racket. It's kinda disappointing...
