Mary is my spirit animal. I live in San Francisco and went to Brattleboro (VT) to quarantine and isolate with my sister. Given that Vermont was a bit more open at the time, I asked her to book an appointment with a real deal facialist. I was not looking for a 'spa facial' (which has its time and place), yet rather a serious clinical experience by an expert practitioner. During shelter-in-place, I found my skin incredibly dehydrated, congested and was displeased with its appearance overall.

Mary's studio is a lovely, calming space off of Main Street. It's on the second floor, which means no outside noise disruption. The studio is filled with windows and light. It's simple, chic, airy and tastefully appointed. Mary is one of those people that when you meet, she instantly puts you at ease. She's kind, complimentary about one's skin and makes recommendations on how she thinks the facial should go based on each person's needs. She's not a product pusher (although I do LOVE what she carries!) and makes it easy to get on a 6-week cycle.
