Yalla Vermont — Restaurant in Brattleboro

Wife & I were visiting from Pennsylvania and my son-in-law suggested we stop here for lunch. He recommended that we arrive early as the line often is out the door and they do run out of items due to demand. We arrived early and were about 5th in line, by the time we ordered the line was indeed out the door. I had a yalla yalla with the egg and stew and oh such heavenly goodness. Everything was incredibly tasty and of course very fresh. We also were able to purchase a bag of pitas and a challah - those were also mighty tasty. The folks running it are fantastic- my wife said “I really have no idea about this food” and they walked her through choices and helped her make some great choices also. So being a huge Star Trek fan I was amused when I saw the STNG memorabilia- great way for the owner to show off his love of it.

I was absolutely thrilled to find this spot, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. There was a line to order, and it was about 2 pm on a Saturday - it was worth the wait. I got the stuffed cabbage special and the pita sandwiches to go. I am not exaggerating when I say I felt like my grandma raised up from the dead to make these stuffed cabbages. They reminded me of hers so much I shed a few tears. I couldn't wait to bite into one of the sandwiches, I devoured it. Their falafel is cooked perfectly. Their flavors are absolutely perfect! Everything comes with an optional side of pickled vegetables, sumac onions, and olives. Those were also delicious. Their seating is all bar-level, and there are enough spots for about 15 people.
