Boomerang — Local services in Brattleboro

Don't recommend if you have little ones with you. This store has a cute selection of vintage and non vintage for reasonable prices. I went in with my kids today and quickly found 3 dresses I wanted to buy. Unfortunately my 6 year old was rudely scolded by an employee for going in the hanging clothing to hide as his father was trying to tell him to get out. I would suggest giving people a chance to parent their own children, as the merchandise here wasn't pricey enough for this kind of reaction. I was ready to buy my own things and had my kid ruined anything I would've paid for that as well. Instead I put my items back and left and won't be back.

I spent the next hour down the street at Twice Upon a Time where the employees were nothing but helpful and my kids managed to break nothing! Really disappointed on missing out on the dresses but there will be more sold by...

Just a note addressing the previous review. I was actually in the store when the incident happened, and I can assure you that it was this obnoxious person and her husband who were the ones making a huge dramatic scene over what seemed to me to be a good-natured joke, and I think their kids was mortified that his parents were acting so out of control (a situation that he probably has seen often). So I would hate to see the store take an undeserved hit on this, as Boomerang is our go-to shop for vintage clothing and accessories whenever we go up to Vermont to ski and see the fall colors every year, and ALL of our experiences with the staff and the proprietors have been top-notch and professional in every way, as all the other reviews here attest. I’ve been shopping here almost my whole life—Boomerang supplied my punk/emo preteen wardrobe, my vintage-obsessed high school looks, and my hipster college wear. They have a fantastically curated collection of vintage and indie-brand clothing and accessories in a fun and funky environment. Friendly and helpful staff, supportive of local artisans (some stellar hand-made jewelry options!) and deeply connected to the community. A visit to Brattleboro isn’t complete without a stop at Boomerang! I live out of state now but always stop in when I’m home for a visit, and I appreciate how much they’ve expanded the online shopping options while travel is tricky....
