I had went to the Zales at Menlo Park mall to surprise my wife for Mother’s Day with a 5-year wedding ring upgrade and went back and forth with the sales rep to get to the price I was willing to spend. After spending roughly 5 hours over the span of three days between waiting, talking price and silly sales tactic, we agreed on a price and I was going to purchase the next day. When I got to the store they raised the price by $1,500 and told me there was no deal and nothing they can do. This was the Friday before Mother’s Day. I couldn’t have been more disappointed.
I happened to be passing by Bridgewater mall and decided to see if they had the same ring and willing to match the price I had agreed to at Menlo Park. I was greeted by Hector and within 5 minutes the deal was made. Within 45 minutes the transaction was complete and I was on my way home. No sales tactics or pressure at all, Hector listened to what I was looking for and provided. There was no back and forth. I couldn’t have asked for a smoother process.
When we came back to pick up my wife’s ring after it was sized, he pulled me aside to see how the surprise went. I could see he was genuinely excited when I told him it was perfect. It’s the little things like that, that make a repeat customer. Even though I’m 30 seconds from Menlo mall; I will continue to go to Bridgewater as long as Hector is there.
She absolutely loves it;...
Read moreStay away from this location, purchased an engagement ring along with other items and the whole process once my debit card was pushed through then came the avalanche of issues and extreme lack of communication, with all parties involved. The sales rep , the service department, the management. When asked for updates on the ring excuses and blame were passed around like it was a hot potato. When I voiced my concerns I was yes’s to death and told they understand and continued to place blame on whoever happen to be off that day. Once I finally got my ring later than expected I was then missing the diamond that came off the band to insert the new center diamond. I was told that I would be contacted when it was “found” just like my previous order I was never contacted and I had to go in myself in order to get an update. Once I arrived the manager said oh yea we have it right here, and immediately stated that the rep that helped me when I picked up the ring didn’t look properly. Which is what i expected another excuse. When I what could be done for my litany of issues with the whole process. The manager stated that I can give you a couple dollars to take you’re fiancé to dinner. All in all one of the worse experiences I have had shopping, when I should have nothing but great memories of the process of buying my fiancés...
Read moreJust went today to pick up an order, and had pretty miserable customer service. The gentleman at the front was entranced by the computer and barely looked at me when I walked in. When I said hello, I have an order to pick up, he blandly glanced my way and directed me to the lady in the back. The lady was equally unimpressed, and without even a pleasant greeting asked for my receipt, proceeded to get the watch stored in an extremely crumpled bag and handed it to me. No invitation for me to check the item, and certainly no effort to ask if I'd like it packaged. I had to ask for a new bag myself which she just handed to me. Listen, this is a sales driven position, so for me to expect BASIC customer service is not too much. Frankly, I was looking to see if I could get a pair if earrings I saw online, but with this kind of service (or lack thereof), I'll gladly patronize another jewelry store. Zales, you have to better train...
