This review is long overdue and for that I apologize to Michael's and (Shannon) the Store Manager. Everything about this store from layout to aesthetics to products to staff to manager is five star (plus!). On one visit in 2023 or 24, I was in the store searching for something but could not locate it. Walking my way was a staff member who noticed that I appeared lost and asked if she could assist me. Not only did she smile the smile of "smiles" and knew exactly what I was looking for, she took me to where it was. Now that is service par excellence as far as I am concerned. By the time I left the store, we were hugging and I was interested in working at this store simply because I was blown away by Shannon's and the staff's amazing smiles, outgoing personalities and obvious love of service toward neighbor.
For the record, I did apply but was not considered for employment. I don't know why but I would have loved to be a part of the staff and store giving that same "par excellence" service I received to other future guests who visit the store.
I have been a long-time Michael's customer and will continue to be. It's been a while since that visit that I was in the store. I need to stop, say hello and make another purchase.
No business is perfect and not all employees love their jobs or the people they serve. But the one's that do, you can spot them a mile away and Shannon is one of those bright spots in the world.

Read moreThe manager Madison is aggressive and throws things around the store like a little kid throwing a tantrum. No customer service whatsoever I had asked for a discount on the LAST roll of vinyl that had been cut into a couple layers but I still wanted it because I didn’t want to go to another store. I bought them out $100+ worth of material and she tried to talk to me like I was begging for a discount “NO WE NOT GIVING YOU A DISCOUNT GRAB ANOTHER ONE” After I looked at her in disgust because I literally had took all the ones that were left she didn’t even ask was there anymore or even see that I was buying a bunch of stuff. She saw I was upset and came up to the register slamming the screen rolling her eyes I said I don’t want it anymore to where she proceeded to throw it behind the resister!! This was literally a 10 second interaction and she acted this ugly. I said are you serious and she was still being rude saying I can do 10% I was like I don’t want it you were so rude and I asked her for her name and then she change her demeanor real quick and said she had a long day which I work customer service that’s not a legitimate reason to act that aggressive to throw and slam things around w a customer that did nothing wrong but ask a question. Read moreThe three stars are because of the total lack of customer service in this store. I think I was in there for about 45 minutes must have walked around the store three times and did not see a single employee other than the cashier. The help buttons were non-functional. The toilet stalls in the restroom we're out of toilet paper. Directional signs at the end of the aisles were too high up and too small with white lettering on a red background that Blended in with the holiday items spread out throughout the store. This is a big store that should have more staff. In addition they have many items but in some cases they don't have all the items that you need to complete one craft, for example in the embroidery and needlecraft section. I drove an hour and a half to get to the store and was very disappointed. The Oklahoma City Michaels on North May just off of 50th Street is smaller but much better and has plenty of staff available to help you find what you need.
