I didn’t become a tenant, but want to thank Tegan Jackson and Kelly Coughlin for their great service, especially Tegan who spent two days answering my inquiries and trying to help me.

Above was my review I wrote a month ago of Chestnut Hill Realty Office. Now I came back to update my great experience with them , the second time even better because with their stellar service I became a tenant officially and can move out of Airbnb now, a firm foothold for my relocation to Boston from South Korea. I want to sincerely thank Devon Richardson, Tegan Jackson, Kelly Coughlin, and Gary Maldonado for going to great lengths to walk me through the application process step by step with utmost empathy of my difficult and complicated background, relocation from South Korea with utmost patience, understanding and support, always giving different options for many barriers I have to overcome for the application. Finally with their great work, I got my apartment. I especially want to thank Devon Richardson and Tegan Jackson, the latter of whom I already gave a great review last time and this time she is as excellent as last time. As for Devon Richardson, I appreciate a lot of his mental support as well as his excellent service, giving a tour of the apartment , responding to all my questions in person , by phone or emails timely and courteously , and above all , always encouraging me by saying we will take care of you! Thank you, that’s why I went back to Chestnut Hill Realty Brookline office after one month of searching apartments with other agents without any success because I didn’t even get to see them in person at all, and I just didn’t have the security and trust I felt twice with Brookline Apartments office. Thank you.

This is the update from Ying on June 2nd, 2025, at 17 Fairbanks Street, Brookline of Chestnut Hill Realty- Brookline apartment.

I wish I could give six stars to Chestnut Hill Realty- Brookline apartment based on my yesterday’s move- in experiences, feeling so lucky and blessed to be served by great employees of CHR, last two times with their management, this time with maintenance department and management as well.

My heartfelt thanks goes to Luis Rodriguez of Maintenance and Tegan Jackson of Management, without whose hard work and great mental support, my Sunday move-in would not have turned out to be a perfect day, with Tegan coordinating with emergency maintenance on one hand and talking to me to calm me down in the middle of her many tours on Sunday. Yesterday , Sunday, when I went back to my apartment, Luise was working diligently by himself installing blinds , replacing electronic units and lids. His forehead sweating a lot, Luis still answered my questions in a calm and assuring way while contacting dusting team to come to finish the last step of preparation, whose professional attitude and commitment to his career impressed me very much. But it is not until this morning did I find out what a conscientious person Luis is ! Luis carried my super heavy Amazon mattress which Amazon left outside the building at the steps of ground level apartment and for which I reserved TaskRabbit service to carry and assemble for me, and Luis carried it to the third floor after he read the address and he wanted to make sure my mattress doesn’t get stolen!

I called to check whether the tour I requested can be confirmed and the person said the tour request is not really a request and said "i can't even explain". Then she asked me to how many bedrooms and where I was looking for. I wanted 1 bedroom apartments but she told me I would have to get 2 bedroom because we were 3-member household (fine). She asked me what our budget was but I asked what the range is for the 2 bedroom is. She kept ignoring me and asked me what my budget was. She had such an ignorant and bad attitude throughout the whole phone conversation. It makes me to not even consider CHR for my rental search and share with my surroundings of my terrible experience with the ignorant person that was on the phone with me. I hope you guys properly train people to serve the customers with...

Update: I was contacted by CHR management to discuss the issue and rectify things with another appointment for apartment tours. This time it was on time so will increase the rating.

I have never given a 1 star review but Chestnut Hill Realty made it a reality!

Requesting a tour with them is a non trivial process with lack of clear communication. On top of that on the day of appointment I was left waiting 45 minutes outside the apartment with no sign of broker or any information about their whereabouts from front desk. I had to keep calling front desk every 15 minutes to ask where the agent is only to be informed that they won't be coming and a new one is being sent. But alas nobody arrived even then.
