The employees were very prejudice. Practically mocked me for casually looking at the clearance section after they told me they didnt have any usb cables on clearance and looked at me like i was crazy for asking them if they had any. They were very rude. They tried to dictate my experience and my purchase. I usually get psn cards printed out on receipt and it gets added to my profile online in case i lose the receipt. This white dude was not letting go the fact that he wanted to force me to buy it in physical card form instead. I asked him 3 times and it got me angry that he would not listen to my request. To not waste my time foolishly i ended up buying the card and felt violated. I called them out for how they treated me, we argued, and it got racist. Im very visibly hispanic and they made a remark about my skin being white and that im whiter than them. And that was the MANAGER. the manager then proceeds to say im no longer welcomed to HIS store. He acted as if he OWNS gamestop. I spoke to gamestop corporation about this and luckily they now allow using your pro rewards credit online. Downtown had the best gamestop but sadly it closed down. And gamestop is pretty much dead to me now. There's way better deals at other places like Best Buy Target Walmart Amazon. As gamers say now, no one buys discs anymore neither. Although gamestop sometimes do have good specials the savings ARE NOT WORTH THE COSTS OF TRAVEL HERE OR WORTH DEALING WITH YOUNG PREJUDICE AIRHEADS. Online is better. Truth be told. All they have is straight junk you're gonna want to get rid of in 2 years. Nothing worth buying. There's a reason their stocks originally tanked. Everything i bought from these stores im now trying to...
Read moreI have never received such terrible customer service in my entire life. Lily is completely misinformed about GameStop's return policies and yelled at me as the customer....she gaslit me telling me that there is hundreds of different types of products and she isn't expected to know the return policy. (what?? mam you work for the company) She blatantly lied about my ability to return something that she herself sold me. The stated promo (BOGO50%off) was not working so she gave me someone's pro account discount (5%off) then acted like she gave me a huge discount when the item was on clearance (but the item itself was never markdown). I wasn't even asking for a refund I was asking her to give me the stated promo (BOGO50%off) that I was entitled too and that was still posted all over the store because that was a bigger discount. I have a video of Lily telling me I'm lucky that I even got discount and I told her the fact the signs are still up and my receipt shows it was not honored, is false advertising. When I asked to speak to her manager she became openly hostile and chased me out of the store! I understand that one bad employee doesn't represent an entire store but the other reviews for this location makes it seem like this a...
Read moreThe moment I stepped in dude said, gotta put on a mask, no "excuse me sir, but Brookline policy is that you have to wear a mask". Boston lifted it on Saturday, so I assumed Brookline did too. One moment they're all the same, next they aren't. So we started a small argument, as I was putting it on. Then I asked do you have a game, and he didn't hear me through the mask or the plexiglass shield, he said no check the shelf yourself. Had it in the end though. So I go to pay with Samsung pay, and the machine wouldn't take it, but reviews say someone payed with apple pay. How do you take 1 but not the other? Started off on a bad note, good for a minute, and ended badly, got what I wanted in the end. But judging by other reviews, this GameStop is horrible with customer service, good thing this isn't my local store, went out of my way to come here. I'm gonna echo what others have said, avoid this store at all costs, the people at the Downtown crossing stone seem much nicer.
Edit: The funny part is that I gave him exact change $1.05, dude put it that I gave him $10.00, lol I think that shows badly on...
