I've always thought Pottery Barn and West Elm were high dollar luxury places to go for stuff.
I have stage 4 cancer and who knows how long I have but for once in my life I wanted to have a beautiful home. When I do get so sick I am bed ridden, I want to look around my home, and know that I truly did well in my life. I worked hard as a completely solo single Mom, and I focused on my career and my son thinking I'd get married later in life. Later in life became cancer treatment and not feeling well. I'm home a lot so I wanted to make my home nice. Thats when I got my first credit card in a long time to Pottery Barn and West Elm and other associated stores.
Take my advice if you think you will be getting the luxury experience with you luxury items and dont go to any of Pottery Barns associated stores or Pottery Barn.
I have had issues with almost every single order. A lot of it is as others have said. Items don't arrive on time. Ive had pillow cases come that are a $100 item and the the comfortor which is a $400 item gets pulled for some reason. Im then stuck with $100 pillow cases for a comforter I'm not getting. I got one rep who was great and promised ai could return them. She said she sent me a table for ups. I did not get it and when I called to have it sent I was told it was a final sale item.
Im not going to go into all of the hiccups Ive had because the majority of the time issues are resolved. However, issues will occur. Whether it's a giant brown stain on the high dollar duvet insert you ordered and now have to pack up and return when you dont have a car or a printer or a unmet delivery date you will deal with customer service that is subpar 50% of the time with a sprinkle of "I really hate my job and I hate customers more!" I wont say the items I have gotten are overpriced, because they are very nice. I will say it is a headache, so good...
Read moreOrdering PB furniture has been the worst shopping experience I have ever had. We ordered a bed and frame in November, 2015. It was delayed multiple times, but not without false confirmations that it was 'on its way'. We finally got the bed in February but they sent the wrong length legs. We called their customer service for the 6th or 7th time (no exaggeration) and they said the legs would be on their way. After a week and a half we called back and learned that they hadn't been ordered yet. Finally, we received everything and have a functioning bed.
Not knowing how bad that process would be, we ordered a couch from Pottery Barn in early January, 2016. Expecting the bed to arrive in early March was fine... furniture takes a bit of time. What we didn't expect was the bed to be delayed until April 1st and now again until April 22nd. That's more than 3 months that we are sitting on camping chairs.
When you do receive the furniture finally, it is well made and is comfortable. Thankfully, also, the support folks are generally friendly and helpful. Small silver lining, and still not worth it in my opinion.
Don't order furniture from Pottery Barn unless you want to receive multiple delay notifications, call their customer service frequently, and deal with various issues because some anonymous 'they' did something wrong again. Terrible terrible...
Read moreWish I could give them a negative 10.! ordered a house full of furniture during the buy more save more event March 9th. Items arrived with missmatched legs, no dininning table causing me to cancel Easter plans at my home & then when I was promised no shipping charges those were tacked on with a promise they would be credited. I finally was so upset they agreed to cancel/return all items. This was end of April. I still have an outstanding credit due for over 2500.00 and the store manager said he is not allowed to help me, they can't figure it out. The Pottery Barn concergie service told me to hire an attorney because there is nothing more they can do and can't figure out the discrepncy. Absolutely rediculous that no one at Pottery Barn can privide reciepts or evsn tell me what the lump sum charges are for purchases or credits or more importantly why the credits are not matching up.
Meanwhile I sit with an empty house and hours of my time waisted on the phone & in the store.
While looking at past reviews I noticed the store manager Jezse, that is not allowed to help me with my store purchase, gave the store a five star rating. Happy you think so much of yourself & your store Jesse. Thr customer service, coordination and product is disappointing to your customers.
Terribly disappointing that I have to hire an attorney to get...
