Moved in here with the help of April at the beginning of December and it’s now beginning of May and I’ve had time to really get a feel of each part of this apartment and the community as a whole. First this entire apartment complex is BEAUTIFUL. My husband and I often talk about how picture-esque each part looks. It’s like the 3D models and vision AI blueprints came to life and it’s really cool to see every time we go to the courtyard to grill or let our kids run and play. The clubhouse and outdoor pool and spa area are always in pristine condition, I often walk with my kids to the clubhouse to grab a free cup of coffee or hot chocolate or some tea and then put our feet in the pool which watching one of the like 4 TVs around the pool. When my husband and I have friends over, we love taking them to the clubhouse as well to show off the cool amenities. We also are able to visit the gym more conveniently and I don’t get much time during the day so I typically go late at night around midnight to 1am because it’s empty and open 24hours which is very nice for me. The apartments are within walking distance of so many things including Walmart, Walgreens, Aldis, and Frys and many different restaurants so we never run out of options on where to shop and eat. Now we can talk about the apartment itself; we got a two bedroom and moved in same day and once we toured it we immediately wanted to apply. Every single unit is brand new and a big deal breaker for me is if an apartment had carpets cause I wanted all hard floor and this apartment delivered! It’s so much easier to clean and if I did change my mind, a nice area rug would fit beautifully with the space. There’s so many outlets for everything which has been something so surprisingly helpful. The laundry in unit was also a big deal for us having two young kids and these machines are actually really nice for being included in the unit. There’s a beautiful spa sized tub in our kids/guest bathroom that has been great for bath time. There’s very nice up to date appliances and the sink is nice and deep for dishwashing (for the rare occasion when we don’t want to use the dishwasher). Now for the people! The leasing office and management of the complex are incredibly nice, they often do monthly games or contests for the residents and it’s always a very fun time. They just had some flower pots and soil and seeds to celebrate earth day and then for Easter they did a community egg hunt with prizes for the ones who found the eggs. We don’t own a dog at the apartment but we’ve had a friend with a dog come by and we loved seeing them play in the HUGE dog park and we peeked into the dog spa for grooming and it is a very wonderful feature for those that do have pets here. The maintenance people are always so friendly and constantly doing work around the area and checking the pool and spa levels to make sure things are in great shape. Honestly it’s been the best apartment we’ve lived in and I’m glad we signed the longer lease and hope we get to renew when the time comes. So grateful...
Read moreIt's August 5th and my air conditioning has been out since July 27th. I sent a maintenance request and they came by right away, determined it was something beyond their scope of expertise and escalated the work order. They brought a portable a/c unit over and that was that. Said I should hear from hvac soon. They did enter my apartment on 7/28 while I was at work and when I came home that evening not only was the a/c still not working, they neglected to lock my apartment door when they left. On 7/31 I finally caught someone in the office (to piggyback on other reviews, it's difficult to find someone in the office during posted hours. maybe 25% of the time you can catch someone there) and asked when to expect working a/c. Now it's supposed to be an electrical issue and not an hvac issue and I should hear something soon. At that time I requested a second portable unit so I could have one for my bedroom. I told them I was sleeping on my sofa in the meantime because its just too hot in my bedroom. Sure, sure we'll bring one right away they said. That was 5 days ago. Still on my sofa. Still no working a/c. I've sent 2 emails and left voice messages at the office. Just asking for an update. To be kept in the loop. To possibly know when I can expect working a/c in my luxury apartment in August. And nothing. Communication with management is abysmal. The young lady working the front desk is just trying to be helpful but she can only do so much. We won't even get into how we can't use the pool at least twice a month because of repeated "incidents" and how it always smells like weed around here. That's another review for another time. In the meantime I haven't slept well in over a week because I'm a person of a certain age who stopped sleeping on my sofa a long time ago. Hopefully this reaches someone's eyes because I'm not feeling very princess like in my luxury apartment at 3:20 am because of the stuffiness and the noise of this portable a/c unit. I noticed that Thompson Thrift responds to reviews by inviting people to email or call to resolve any issues. I've done my part. Trying to remain grateful but I'm very annoyed
Edit to add Someone came by today to fix the a/c and now it's working. Appreciative for the prompt response. The maintenance crew is very professional and it appears they are extremely busy servicing these brand new apartments. Which isn't anyone on the staff's fault. Newer management is trying. I have noticed some better things happening too. I'm trying to practice patience and I suppose several nights on the sofa in a sauna while hot flashing not knowing when it would ever end got to me. Fingers crossed it...
Read moreThere are many beautiful apartment complexes to visit and live in and around Buckeye, Arizona, but what makes the Maddox stand out are the exceptional people that work there and take care of the facility. Not only is the facility immaculate, but the friendliness of the leasing office and the availability to work with my schedule was phenomenal. Paula Canizales, not only was flexible with her schedule, but was extremely knowledgeable about the property itself, showing us different layout apartments, parking facilities, all the amenities, she was even more knowledgeable about the application process the information we needed to have to complete a successful application in a timely manner. donna and April were also very helpful in the office. They were able to access all my information and print out anything they needed right then and there I can’t say I’ve had a more pleasant experience than talking with and communicating my needs to Paula, Donna, and April if you were looking for somewhere to live, I highly suggest starting with the Maddox luxury apartments first because other complexes look nice in pictures but when you have to do tours and deal directly with the leasing office is the vibe is completely different. Here at the Maddox they made us feel like we were already family and anything we needed they were more than happy to provide. At this time, I’d like to thank management and the staff for such a wonderful experience, especially since we travel from out of state and know absolutely no one in Arizona. They definitely made us feel like we could trust this establishment. Thank you for making this a pleasant...
