Updated to add: DISCOUNT TIRE WAS ABLE TO CORRECT WHAT ED I PAID ED TO DO!!! After MANY FAILED visits to Costco, ED WAS UNABLE TO PROPERLY INSTALL AND BALANCE OUR VEHICLE!! Discount confirmed that EVERY SINGLE NEWLY INSTALLED TIRE WAS OFF BALANCE BY .75. At this point, either Costco has faulty equipment, or the negligence by Ed and his staff is intentionally done.
ââââââââ-
The tire center manager, Ed, has some of the WORST customer service Iâve ever experienced.
I purchased four new tires from this location on the morning of 6/26/25. I also advised that I would like all four TPMS sensors to be replaced, and I would happily pay for them - Ed stated they could do this and he would wave the install fee for the sensors since they were installing the tires. Ed advised the tires would be delivered on 6/28/25 and that they would call us when they come in - no appointment set for install based on the predicted delivery date. I called Saturday (6/28) to inquire about the tires, since I knew the weekend would be busy and we would need an appointment for installation. When I called Saturday morning around 10:30 to inquire about the tires, I was told they werenât in yet and they would call when they arrived. My husband called Saturday evening to confirm the tires had never been delivered. On Sunday, 6/29/25 we were told the tires wouldnât be delivered until 6/30 or 7/1. I waited until the evening of 7/1 to call, and was told to call back the next day due to the tires still not being delivered. When I called the evening of 7/1/25, I spoke with Noah who was able to secure us some comparable tires and installation appointment for 7/2. When speaking with Noah, I confirmed that they would be able to install the four new TPMS sensors. Noah said âyup! I have them right here, set aside for your appointment and weâre waving the install fee.â
When we left our appointment on 7/2/25, we had four new tires but no working TPMS sensors. When we asked why they didnât change them like we asked, and have repeatedly been willing to pay for, they told us that they werenât going to do that because it needed to go to the dealership. (Sidenote: I entertained this idea, however, the dealership would need to keep the vehicle for five days due to their turn around time. Which is avoidable by my willingness to pay Costco to replace the sensors.)
After driving the truck, I noticed it was a rough drive but figured the tires just needed time to adjust - nope, the whole balance is off. So after waiting nearly a week for the tires I paid for to be installed, I still donât have working TPMS sensors or a balanced truck. (My spare was also flat, and while I realize thatâs not their responsibility, it wouldâve been appropriate for them to 1.) let me know they noticed it was deflated while they were addressing the other tires 2.) offer to inflate the spare tire, or 3.) possibly make a sale on a fifth tire if it was needing replaced; instead, it was ignored in the name of âcustomer serviceâ).
Seeing as how the Buckeye location had already mishandled my vehicle, I was unwilling to return to that location for additional service. Took the truck to the Surprise location, only to see Ed (the manager of the tire shop at the Buckeye location) there, getting his personal vehicle serviced, as a customer. I think itâs pretty telling when Ed doesnât even get his own vehicle serviced at the location he manages.
The Surprise location was able to replace the sensors, and confirmed that the front left tire was not balanced properly.
The fact that Ed is responsible for our safety on the road (due to the tire installation) and doesnât know how to properly have our tires installed is absolutely atrocious. This is one of five household vehicles that would have been serviced by Costco and now I trust them to service none of them.
There is absolutely no excuse for this lack of professionalism and blatant negligence of the...

To Whom It May Concern
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply concerning incident that occurred at your Costco store #1653 located at 1111 N. Verrado Way, Buckeye, AZ 85326. My husband has recently experienced racial targeting for the second time by the same employee whose name I cannot recall as her name tag was tucked under her jacket and it has left us feeling disturbed and disappointed.
This morning, my husband and I visited our local Costco to quickly complete our shopping before picking up our preschooler from school. We were on a tight schedule, with only about 30 minutes to complete our tasks. We proceeded to a cashier lane, where my husband had all of our items scanned by a cashier while I went to the food court to grab some food and pick up my prescriptions at the pharmacy. However, as I was approaching the exit, I was surprised to find my husband still inside, being stopped at the door. As I approached him he appeared embarrassed as the employee working the exit proceeded to count his items for the second time. This incident was particularly distressing as this employee had previously stopped and questioned my husband based on a previous error caused by another employee at the self-checkout lanes. Her handling of the situation escalated the issue unnecessarily, leaving my husband feeling humiliated.
While I tried to comprehend the situation and count our items, I expressed my frustration by reminding her that we had not used the self-checkout and any errors in scanning were not our fault. I emphasized that we were already running behind schedule to pick up our child from preschool due to this ordeal. However, she disregarded my concerns by saying she was just doing her job and called for assistance from another employee named Erika, who proceeded to assist her in counting our items for the third time. Afterward, Erika assured us that they would address the issue later and allowed us to leave.
Upon arriving home, I meticulously checked every single item on the receipt and confirmed that everything was accounted for without any discrepancies. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and apologetic to my husband for having to endure such treatment. He cannot help but feel targeted, as he has observed that other customers with similar or even larger quantities of items are not subjected to having their items counted 2-3 times.
I have been a loyal customer of Costco for years and have never encountered such a distressing situation before. It is disheartening to witness my husband feeling uncomfortable to even enter your store anymore. I sincerely hope that this incident will be taken seriously and that appropriate measures will be implemented to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. I kindly request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary steps to address the issue of racial targeting within your store. It is crucial for all customers to feel valued, respected, and treated fairly regardless of their race or ethnicity. I believe that by addressing this situation promptly, you can help foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all patrons.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that you will handle it with the utmost seriousness and urgency it deserves. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution...
