My small business is under a fixed rate contract, however this means nothing to this company. They WILL use their fine print against you. Total energy charges at my fixed rate for June was $641.88 and the five months before this were similar. For July the fixed rate charges were $751.55 and then they added PJM charges of 308.76 RPS charges of 40.77 and an unknow "Billing Adjustment" of 229.59. when I talked to a representative I was told the PJM and RPS were increases in grid charges and my contract terms allows them to pass this on to me. He said the "Billing Adjustment" was "Force Majeure" a section in the contract which essentially allows them to change my pricing to whatever they want based on events out of New Wave's control and he said that this was because of the Ukraine War. I am not sure what they have done here is legal and if they force me to pay Early Termination Fees, I will find out.

Chose a 36 month contract to lock in a higher rate then available shorter term from other suppliers. Now rates are climbing and they elected to terminate my contract. I understood the risk of possibly paying a higher rate when signing up 8 months ago. I assumed the supplier did as well. I can not break my end of the contract without incurring a penalty. Now that the supplier is getting the short end of the deal they walk away? Choose any other supplier. This company is a joke.

If I could leave zero I would, came out and said they would save me money. My bill has doubled in service. Complete scam. Do not use them the lawsuit I’m gonna have is gonna be great.

Buyer Beware! Got a call at work from a New Wave Energy sales rep saying I hadn’t renewed my electric contract yet and would I like to do so? My response was email me your rates and I’ll look them over and could I get a copy of the contract? He wouldn’t send me a copy of the contract without me sending him a copy of my energy bill first, so he could “customize” it, I said no to this (for those who don’t know a sales rep can change your energy/gas supplier if they can get access to your account number, never show your bill to anyone unless you are ready to sign up with that company). Red flag number one. But, he did send me over some rates that were lower than what we were paying at that time. However, I looked over my energy bill and New Wave Energy was not our supplier. When he called back the following week he admitted the information about our contract renewal came from the energy company, not their own records. Red flag number two. Next, I looked for reviews on Google, and found very few. In fact, 12 of 15 of the raitings on Google Reviews (May 30, 2018) are just a name and a 5-star rating with nothing written, and one name appears twice the first time capitalized and the second time all lower case. These 12 reviews were also all written about the same time, a couple months after a 1-star review that appears to be the second review for the company. Red flag number 3. Finally, I looked up the Terms and Conditions for my state (Ohio) on their website. Tucked into the Terms and Conditions is a clause that states when your contract is up you have 3 days to sign a new contract or cancel before they automatically sign you up for a variable rate. Red flag number 4. They also have a waiver of a jury trial clause that appears to state (if I’m reading the legalese right) that you agree to waive your right to demand a trial by jury or even participate in a trial against the company! Red flag number 5 was the show stopper for me! What is this company doing that they feel they need to put in a clause like this? No thank you, I will shop elsewhere for my company's...

Tony came and approached my 90 year old Dad about switching who we were with Clearview - they were awesome)....that the rate would be better etc. So I did it for him as well as my own home and business if it was that good - why not? Well two things. The first and most furious - after I signed all the contracts they never put them thru - some they did and some they didnt. We are not being socked with variable rates DOUBLE wha we were told - AND we signed contracts. When I called he told me (and still have the emails saying so) that it was up to ME to fix it...WHAT??? He wanted ME to call RGE NYSEG etc and get the rate changed where it should be. Hmmm...isnt that why you came here to represent us? The 2nd thing is - I have a tenant building and all rents are based on factors such as utilities. Ok - So THIS one Tony did see to it that the contract was put through - however - they doubled my rate because "Its a volatile market"., DUH- thats why I locked it in!!! I never ever ever had this issue ion the past 25 years or whenever deregulation started. NEW WAVE lies to you and you get twice the rate they promised. Oh and to top it all off? His exact words when I said I was dissatisfied with him not submitting my contracts and seeing them through was "Do you want us to just drop your accounts?"
