Clerk named Tom (I wish I had his last name), maybe in his 50s.
I don’t understand how Macy’s let somebody like him work for the company. He’s rude, arrogant and he thinks he’s gonna inherit the company. The first time I dealt with him, I was in line to return something. He noticed it and he sent me in a very rude way to another register because “he was busy”. Bs, he was ringing up a lady in front of me, nothing crazy. Plus he sent me to another register where the line was longer. The second time I had to deal with him was to return another product purchased online. This time he had no excuse to send me to another register. The item was brand new: inner pack bag, intact tag. This guy pulled the jacket, check all the ziplocks multiple times, all the pockets, and the tag A LOT of times, like looking for an excuse to tell me he couldn’t process the return. He even SMELLED it and he said “this smell is weird” like smiling. He called another clerk to smell the jacket and the lady was like ok, it doesn’t smell like anything. While he was doing all this circus I was telling him how do you want it to smell if it’s brand new as you can see, and it has never been worn. Not just happy with that he asked me if I wanted him to order another size when I had told him that I JUST wanted to return it. I said no, I just want to return it. He keeps checking the tag as if he’s gonna find something else, he types something on his computer and then he asks me “so what do you size do you want me to order?” Jesus Christ dealing with this man was unbearable, just by seeing his disgust face you can see he hates his job. Look for another job man. If you don’t like people returning products, don’t work for retail. It’s incredible how Macy’s let these people to be the face of their company. Thanks to him I won’t go to any...
Read moreReturns are only easy if you still have the tags. Target, Kohls, Nordstroms…. They have EASY RETURNS. Macy’s not so much. Besides, the store is barely a department store anymore. If it weren’t for the makeup and fine fragrances. I’d never believe it. Over priced, messy, understaffed and poor quality. What has happened to department stores??? It used to be worth it to spend more.
I recently visited with my grandma and was offered a Macys card (DON’T DO IT!). I was assured that the pants I purchased were “Easy Return” which was great bc the dressing rooms were unavailable on that day. When I came back to Easy Return. Nope. No tag. Even though I had the receipt, it was less than 30 days and I had my Macy’s card. That’s how it works everywhere I shop. Being new to Macy’s, I didn’t know the rules. (Jewelry and MAC were easy returns but I did have the tags) My advice: SHOP FOR CLOTHES ELSEWHERE or KEEP YOUR TAGS. Plus, the manager treated me very poorly. Even stated, “We can’t take these pants back in this condition.” And dropped them in the counter and walked away. In a “upscale department store”??? I never wore the pants. I tried them on at the house, walked out the door and came back in because I hated them and changed. I usually shop in Orange County and I’ll be trying for my return there. That’s where I opened my card and the employees are lovely. Helped me and my 92 year old grandma with style and grace. Not so much at this location. I’ll never be back. Makes me wish I didn’t use my perfect credit to get a Macys card. Earning points to spend at a place I don’t like is a waste. Plus the card is difficult to manage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE OR...
Read morePlaced an order online for pick up in store just because my time is very limited so it wa snuck easier for me to do. Bought a couple of things I got an email the next day after placing my order that my items were ready. After working 12 hours shift I finally had the chance today to pick up my items and do all necessary errands. As I am leaving to go to Macy’s I get an email saying my items had been canceled, confused I looked up to see when my last day to pick up was and clearly in the email it said April 8th. I call customer service and the first representative was nice and transferred me over to another person , this female was giving attitude when there clearly was no need for it, she made me seem as if I was wrong. Once I told her I had emails saying my last day pick up was April 8th she changed her tone. There wasn’t anything they could do except say sorry “yeah it’s very misleading”.Macy’s has the worst customer service experience and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Customer service is a big huge component of a company’s success. It is what makes you stand out from the rest, with this customer service I can take my business elsewhere like Kohl’s or Nordstrom where I will be treated better. Many other stores sell the same brands as you so why should I continue to do business with you? After all you need my business not the...
