I read a lot of reviews about JS Advanced Stereo and the owner Esteban on Yelp. An overall four star rating and everyone was extolling his honesty, great customer service, reasonable prices, and ability to do great work quickly. I was impressed and a little curious so I decided to go check it out.

I had recently bought a used a truck, which I love, but it did not have an up to date stereo system. I know I am old school, but even I no longer have cassettes, lol. The speakers are great just needed a blue-tooth CD player. I didn't have a lot to spend on it and after I had had a frustrating visit to Car Toys this last weekend which left me thinking I was gonna be stuck listening to the radio for the rest of my life, I headed up to JS Advanced Stereo after work today.

Estaban greeted me and asked how he could help. I explained what I was looking for and how I doubted I would be able to get what I needed in my budget, as well as installation. I explained how I had seen his store on Yelp and was impressed with the glowing reviews about him and his business. Within 15 minutes he had found a really nice Sony stereo for me and done some quick calculations and came up with a number I could handle. The total cost, new unit, all the extra needed for installation, and the install came to less than half of what CTs lowest offer was.

He had the unit installed in less than an hour and I was cranking up Pandora and taking calls while I was driving, for the first time ever.

The prices here are reasonable, the staff worked with me to find a good time to leave my vehicle with them for a 2 door speaker installation/e locks.

We scheduled a week in advance for a morning drop off so I was disappointed about 8 hours in, ringing them up to find out the work was already complete. Why ask for my cell if you weren't going to notify me? This was likely just a minor oversight, I came to pickup the vehicle.

I appreciated the demo when I arrived. When I got into my vehicle to leave, I noticed a bunch of shredded wires and debree in the door and on the floor mats, along with some trim on the rear mats that weren't put back together. The interior was clean at drop off, I was expecting the same at pickup but again, not a big deal.

When I started driving, I noticed a lot more rattling (audio off) from the panels and banging from the passenger door on turns. Later that week, the passenger window froze in place during operation. Convinced that something was messed up, I popped the door panels to find trim and body fasteners repurposed for their installation, leaving a single fastener in different places to hold everything together, along with various scratches on the trim. The window guide was one of them, missing a 6x16 bolt washer on the bottom. This not only explained the noise while driving, but also why the window fell off the tracks.

Based on these high praise reviews, I'm sure this friendly shop does some great work, the reviews are what got me in the door in the first place. Maybe it was just a bad day at the shop, but I'll look elsewhere for any future...

Esteban and his team are great. I wanted to upgrade the system and get a backup camera in an older Toyota Tundra pickup for about $2k. I was referred by my mechanic to one of the big chain stores in the area. On the phone their salesman said I could get a really good system within my budget but by the time I went there and met with him he wrote up an estimate for over $4,000. After researching other shops in the area I decided to go visit Esteban at JS, and I am really glad I did. He doesn't have the fancy displays like the other shops but he has really good knowledge and he listened really well to what I wanted and he made great recommendations. I wasn't thinking I'd be able to get a subwoofer within that budget but Estaban was able to do that as well. I was very cautious about the whole decision because I have put a system in two different cars in the past and wasn't happy with either one. And I am a semi-pro musician and have a fairly Discerning year. I told all this to Esteban and he was totally confident that I would be very happy with the upgrade. And I am. In fact I was so happy that a few weeks later I had them install the same system in our other vehicle.
