I have been a resident since day 1, and have definitely had only positive experiences. The people on my floor seem respectful, and it's a quite, courteous floor. I lived in a "luxury" apartment building downtown and experienced similar issues with noise, smell, homeless individuals that I see mentioned in other Maverick reviews, but for nearly 2x the rent. (Including hearing my next door neighbor using the bathroom because cement floors create weird sound patterns.) The staff does keep the common areas clean, neat, and maintained (including landscaping), both inside and outside. They have also been very responsive with issues I've had in the unit, from a noisy freezer fan to a leaking fire sprinkler. Yeah, the appliances are a little on the inexpensive side. But try living in a "green building" with a European size refrigerator (as in, xxx small) and no garbage disposal. One issue I have noticed is sound, which from experience is par of the course in apartment living, even luxury units. 1) I can hear my neighbor opening/closing drawers and cabinets in the kitchen which is a shared wall with my bedroom. But only occasionally. 2) My upstairs neighbor is a heavy heel walker, which again, I only hear in the bedroom. 3) The courtyard is in the middle of the complex, so the sound is amplified and bounces off the walls of the complex, which gets a little much when there's a birthday or late-afternoon gathering. However, considering the noise complaints about SeaTac air traffic that many Burien residents have, it's not awful. Also, my apartment is located above the BBQ, which can be mouth watering when someone is BBQ'ing; I want to go down with a plate in my hand. In all, I've been impressed with complex. I know the staff will continue to make the Maverick an exceptional place to live, putting the comfort and convenience of respectful residents first. And apologies in advance to my downstairs neighbor when I accidentally drop stuff. Sorry.

Centipedes. Current Resident. Unresolved Issue. First off... Being in The Maverick is wonderful. I enjoy the scenic views, quick elevators, and indoor laundry, parking and mailbox. Yes, I feel super safe. Expect loud door slamming and dog barking... it is an apartment complex after all. Now. Centipedes... I gave a fairly low rating because recently (within 2 weeks period) I have experience frequent visits from centipedes. These small pests have been crawling from outside of my apartment to the inside. When I reported it, I was told to write a maintenance request and an exterminator will come out, and a maintenance person will reach out to me. I called the same day and was told that centipedes are harmless and just "pick them up". I called a day later to follow-up and an exterminator did come to spray outside the apartment complex (the staff was not sure exactly where so neither am I), but nothing was done to contain what was already inside. I called another time and was told that a maintenance person will contact me. Never happened the first time nor the second time. On the resident portal, it shows that that the work for the maintenance request was complete... so I guess, that's it? Now the centipedes are crawling up my wall. I even saw them going inside a neighbor's door then up the wall by another neighbor's door. I may be the only one that has reported or notice this issue so I can see why it's easily dismissed. Ever since, I have just been picking up centipedes and spraying around my apartment. The sprays don't seem to work and I fear I'm going to have an infestation in my new apartment. It's sad because I loved it here, but I don't want those things near in my bed sheets, shoes, or clothing.. it gives me shivers just thinking/writing about it. I'm here wondering... Why is this happening? Is it because of the Summer heat and the centipedes are looking for a cool spot?

After living here over a year there is no other place I would rather call home. The amenities are top notch, the gym is spectacular, and the entire staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful people you will ever meet. The view is absolutely breathtaking. With a full view of Mt. Rainer, the ability to watch planes land and takeoff with virtually no noise from them, being a walk across the street from countless amazing bars and restaurants, and walking distance to the beach, a 15 minute drive to Seattle and Bellevue both, there is no better location than the Maverick. Stop your search here and go take a look at the Maverick, you will not be disappointed.

It is very noisy! I can hear everything the person above and next to me does. I can even hear the person two apartments up from me. When you walk around the complex the noise coming from some of the apartments is so loud you can hear it all the way down the floor. A lot of the people here are very inconsiderate. They listen to loud music, let their dogs bark none stop, and let their kids run wild in the hallways. I have never lived in a place as noisy as this one.

You can smell everything that your neighbors are cooking. My place smells like garlic and onions every other day. On multiple occasions I walked out and the whole hallway smelled like cigarette smoke.

When I moved in my apartment it was definitely not move in ready. The dishwasher was not installed and a lot of things needed to be fixed. The appliances are also very cheap and make a lot of noise. Especially the dishwasher.

The leasing office is not very organized and some of the agents don't know what they are talking about. There is no notification process when you get a package. In my old apartment complex they send you an email when something arrived. I had a gift that was delivered which had perishable items in it and they never notified me although it states that it is perishable on the box.

The location is horrible. There are a lot of homeless and crazy people walking around the neighborhood. It very close to the main bus station where a lot of questionable people hang out. The other day a random person knocked on my door and stayed in front of it for like 10 mins and then sat down in the hallway. You need a key to come in the building but one of the doors just opens even without it. I am not to sure they have onsite security. If they do I was never provided a number for them or...
