It's nothing special tbh. They have a decent size location, but absolutely no seating inside. They tore up two parking spots for outdoor seating. It's texas, it gets hot, not everyone wants to sit outside with melting ice cream. Marble slab in town is an extremely small location and yet they still offer inside seating. A major issue I have with this place is their menu. If you go to the website and choose the burleson location, it pops up their menu, they do not have every flavor that is showcased so beware! The older guy taking orders I think has hearing problems so probably wasn't the best to have him be on the only open register on the opening day. I ordered two different ice creams and yet people who came in after me received their three ice creams before mine. The older guy on register was extra friendly and chit chatted with them the entire time too. There was a woman who just kinda stared at everyone, but never did anything. Never smiled, acknowledge customers, RBF, etc. It's your first official day, maybe be more friendly to all customers? I'd be willing to try this location again once it dies down, but so far I am...
Read moreI recently tried Handel’s for the first time, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst business experiences I’ve had in Burleson in over 20 years. If their name stands for anything, it’s hateful, arrogant, negligent, disrespectful, entitled, lousy, and superficial.
The way they treat their customers is insulting at best. Staff act like you’re bothering them just by walking in, and the “service” feels more like a transaction they want to rush through than any kind of hospitality. Ownership clearly operates on a cold, corporate formula — cashing in on a brand name while completely ignoring the human side of running a business. There’s no warmth, no community connection, just a conveyor belt of mediocrity.
Burleson has been blessed with many thriving new businesses that care about quality and about people. Handel’s is the glaring exception — a corporate ice cream shop with no soul, no charm, and no respect for its customers. If you’re looking for a place that values you as more than just a swipe of a credit card, skip this...
Read moreIce cream is decent. Paid $35 for five people. But the staff isn't great. They aren't super friendly, extremely untrained, etc. There was an older woman with red hair and she just seemed so bothered to be there and wasn't helpful. A guy with a cross necklace took my order and he had no idea how to work the computer and kept trying to get me to do two flavors. I asked if I could just do one flavor. He said yes, but it comes with two flavors. I'm like I get that, but I just want one flavor. He did that with every single one of my items. I know they just opened, but the staff should be trained ahead of time. If not then maybe the managers/owners should be on register. I also find it highly suspicious that some of these five star reviews are written the same way and only have one review under their account. So it definitely seems like the employees or friends/family of the employees are leaving some of these reviews. Overall the ice cream is decent and worth trying. But perhaps wait a bit so the staff can be better trained and...
