There are so many reviews on here that are complete bull. The professors do care, but it isn't kindergarten, if you go to your classes you will pass. If you don't go, you wont. They aren't going to baby your hand along the process, and if you don't know that yet then you aren't ready for any college. Nobody here is snobby, everyone is so open and I already have tons of friends. Also I dress up in a sweater and skinny jeans to school every day and get absolutely no issues. I don't know how CORE could be a "lie" as CORE is a class not a statement, and the CORE classes aren't even that bad. You only get like two CORE classes each semester. Then one math, and one science for all the four years that you are here (Depending on your major, I'm Film). The rest of your classes you get are related to whatever your major is. You will start your major the first week that you start here. You get to learn your trade instantly. Also you don't just send in your portfolio to get in, you have to actually apply to the school through their application. All of this is so simple. This is such an easy school. I already have an amazing job with the school, I get to sleep in until 11 every day, and my grades are higher in here then they were in high school. Don't listen to the salty kids who went skipping 10 classes a week then flunked out because they couldn't handle the...
Read moreAs a non-computer focused major, I really struggled with making like-minded friends, and felt that my program was underfunded and ignored. My professors were really wonderful and passionate about their courses and I really learned a lot through them but the higher ups in the college system must value the money that is made through their cybersecurity, game programming, graphic design, computer programming, and other related majors over the humanities division. Burlington itself is a really great spot to live so attending Champlain could be worth it if you really put yourself out there and maybe meet students from UVM to balance out your social circle while still getting those couple of really good courses from Champlain. The campus is beautiful, the food is okay (some vegan options!), the campus culture is very odd, and the first year dorms most likely have black mold because I was ALWAYS sick. I hope that the school realizes the value of funding all of their divisions and that future students can enjoy Burlington and the beautiful campus without the worry of your professors...
Read moreI think the only people who like this school are the people who would be bullied anywhere else. If you go to this school prepare to have an uninteresting mundane social life at best and never go to any parties or do anything interesting. The Game programs are pretty good, but not worth it to me to sacrifice all aspects of the social life you should experience in college for what is an okay program. In my experience, most people here agree this school is a waste of money and pathetic. Coming here was such a mistake and I will be transferring ASAP. Don't get me wrong, the campus is nice, the teachers are nice, and the area is decent though there's not much to do, but just know that almost all of the people here are the "discord gamer" type of person who wears gamer shirts unironically. It really does just feel like the bottom of the barrel of the social chain from every highschool in the country. It's embarrassing to say I go here and the neighboring UVM hates and makes fun...
