I frequently shop at this store because I live locally and appreciate the sales during the off season, every time the sales associates ignore or act cold when checking out but I never experienced such horrible service then when I went in today. I brought my grandparents in the store, they both bought a sweatshirt which totaled to more than it should I questioned it and the lady rudely told me āhis sweatshirt was 20% offā when I saw it was clearly marked on the 50% rack. As I was walking over to the rack to check again she yelled across the store at me āyou want to fight me Iāll fight youā, I had to do a double take to realize she was talking to me! (Mind you Iām in my 20ās and sheās in her 60ās, regardless who treats their customers that way!??) Never once did I say a negative word to her or accused her of being wrong I was just walking over to the rack to check the sign. She pulled a zip off from another rack and yelled āitās 20%ā but it wasnāt the one he got. When I found the zip up he got and pointed out it was on the 50% rack, she said āthatās a hoodieā I then pointed out it wasnāt to which she said then itās on the wrong rack I then said well thereās an entire section thatās on the wrong rack. She looked at it and said āoh youāre right, send them back in and Iāll refund themā
She never once apologized to me for acting so nasty when I was simply checking the price of the sweatshirt she overcharged my 77 year old grandfather for. I have gotten lots of gifts and cape May gear from this store before but I will not be returning. As the other reviews state, there are many stores just like it and the woman who seemed to be the manager or owner is extremely rude and should not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have frequented this place in the past and spent a few hundred bucks on tshirts and children's toys. We just bought $100 of toys, shirts, and souvenirs, and as we were walking out of the store, my son noticed there was melted wax/glue on one of the toys and he wanted to exchange for a new one. We showed it to the lady at the register, and she very rudely told us and our kids that she didn't see anything, and even if it were there, that it didn't affect funtionality of the toy, and that it could have been because my kids were playing with it. I asked her if she could see the melted wax and how my kids could not have done that and she yelled at my face "You are not getting an exchange." My children and other customers watched us in horror. We had bought it literally 30 seconds ago, other than checking the functionality, the boys did not play with this toy before purchasing. We could not believe it for a $4.99 toy, when we just bought $100 of merchandize and this is clearly a product defect, not something my son did in 30 seconds. The receipt also clearly said exchanges were allowed. I cannot believe it. We come here at least once every year and our trip to Cape May would have been amazing except for this shocking experience.
Edit: 5 mins later the toy broke and completely fell apart. Do not waste your money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I were in Cape May for our 30th Anniversary, we were walking around the local shops and came upon Beach Bums, while my wife picked out a few items I noticed a sign on the wall near the staircase leading to the second floor that read āDicountā instead of āDiscountā, as my wife purchased her items I mentioned very politely to the older lady behind the counter that I believe is the owner, and instead of thanking me she starts getting loud and yelling at me āI donāt careā, āIām too busy to careā, mind you, there were literally 3 other people in the store⦠This lady is rude, crude, and doesnāt know how to treat people, fortunately for us there are a half dozen identical stores selling the typical t-shirts you can find in and tourist location. I wonāt give this nasty lady another dime, and itās a shame that this lady gives Cape May a...
