EcoVentures Cape May Surf School — Local services in Cape May

As an adult female in her 50s, I was a bit nervous taking a surf lesson--but from beginning to end, Dave made the process so easy that I am now a surfer!!!

I started by emailing EcoVentures with a request for a lesson the following week. That day, Dave phoned me to set up everything. Dave went over all the details from what to wear to where to park. After that I received a confirmation email that went through everything again in even more detail.

On the day of the lesson, Dave was set up at the Cove in Cape May. Our lesson began with on land instructions where he described how the waves work at the Cove, how to handle the board and how to pop up on the board.

We then took the lesson to the water. Again, Dave was extremely detailed! He patiently told me what I was doing right and what I needed to fix. By the end of the lesson, I rode several waves to the shore!

After the lesson Dave took pictures of me and sent them in a follow up email.

Dave has a gift of sharing his love of the water, environment and surfing to his students! I will definitely be taking another lesson on my next visit...

Our daughters (13 and 9) took their first surf lessons with David and his team at the cove beach this week.it was a great experience! They start promptly with a few minutes of instruction on the beach and then head into the water for the remainder of the lesson. The instructors are friendly and encouraging and cheer and clap for the kids as they start to stand and get comfortable. The photos ops at the end are a nice touch and great way to end the experience! We will definitely be signing up for a few more lessons...

I had an excellent experience learning to surf with Dave! His instructions were thorough and easy to follow on the sand. When we got in the water, he was super patient, supportive, and encouraging. I think I stood on my 2nd wave. From there on, Dave gave me little tweaks to keep getting better every wave. Safe to say I am obsessed with surfing and looking forward to renting a board throughout the summer in Cape May from Southend! Would highly recommend lessons here to anyone...
