My partner and I recently had a much-needed date night, and the experience was beyond anything we could have imagined. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed with a cheese platter and immersed in what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. Chef Lane was a true master—friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share insider French cuisine tips that even had me rethinking all those Master Classes I’ve taken! I also picked up the word unctuous, which perfectly captures the rich, luxurious texture of the food we indulged in. *chefs kiss* I’ll be dropping that one in every food conversation from now on! The class itself was such a unique experience—hands on learning to make a hearty, simple yet complex bucatini pasta dish that’s perfect for cozy fall dinners with minimal cleanup. We not only learned, but we laughed, shared stories, and made fast friends with people we’d never met. The energy in the room was contagious, and by the end of the night, it felt like we had all been part of something really special. But let’s not forget the food—it was absolutely divine! Creamy, unctuous pasta that practically melted in your mouth, paired with a citrusy salad made w homemade croutons, thoughtful touches and perfectly balanced flavors. For dessert, I had the salted caramel gelato served as an Affogato, with a shot of espresso poured over it—decadent and rich, it was the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing meal. By the time it was over, we were floating. For context, we joined the “One Pot Perfection” class, where we learned how to make simple yet deeply satisfying pasta dishes with minimal effort. If you’re looking for a fun, enriching, and downright delicious evening, this class is a must. Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing experience at Home for Entertaining! My husband and I attended the “Love Letter to NC Strawberries” cooking class with Chef Kim as part of our anniversary weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality (and a glass of wine!) by the wonderful women who run the shop. The store itself is stunning—filled with beautifully curated heirloom pieces, locally sourced dinnerware, and thoughtful accents that make you want to host a dinner party on the spot. The cooking class was so fun and hands-on, and the menu celebrated local ingredients in the most delicious way. We got to make the strawberry oat bars and learn how to perfect Chef Kim’s grandmother’s recipe—such a special touch. They even offered vegan-friendly modifications for me, which made the experience even more meaningful. We ended the evening sitting down with the other guests to enjoy the food we made, and it truly felt like gathering with new friends around the table. Highly recommend this place for a unique date night, gift idea, or just a little inspiration for your home. Can’t wait to come back! Find more of my local recommendations: @postcardsfrommicah

I recently attended a pasta making class at Home for Entertaining, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the shop itself was tastefully decorated, organized and spotlessly clean, including the restrooms. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm smile and offered a glass of their delicious red wine. I was encouraged to browse the store, which had a great selection of home items, gifts, and more. They had items ranging from high-end to more budget-friendly options. The pasta making class was led by Chef Cat from Carolina Culinary Solutions, with the assistance of Glenda. Both were patient, kind, and provided clear instructions throughout the class. We learned how to make two different types of pasta: Fettuccine and Gnocchi. It was so much fun and I left with a new skill, new connections, and a bottle of their delicious wine. I highly recommend Home for Entertaining for anyone looking to learn a new skill, meet new people, and have a great time. Thank you HFE for hosting such a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to come back soon.
