I’ve done my best to not drop a 1* for this site as I’ve been a long term customer. Not necessarily by choice but one none the less as I enjoyed games. My recent experiences with them have not been great. The climate around collectible cards is disgustingly to say the least, especially for Pokemon cards. Their current practices do not help the situation at all. I was offered recently a phone number to get “ahead” of the line for Pokemon cards. Apparently if I was in good with Wendy or had an inside connect and was willing to pay a little extra I could skip the line. The associate then gave me their number. I refuse to pay extra for a product that is under an artificial shortage. I’ve now had 3 experiences with this site where there was product available but for whatever reason they could not sell it to me. One particular incident happened over a course of three days worth of attempts. All they had to do was open the shipment process it for sell and allow me to buy it. That was it.
The most recent was on the Journey Together release day. They had over 90 items of sought after product. If they stuck to the 2 items per person limit then 45 people would have had the chance. So what did they do, gave everyone in line a chance at two items per SKU!! Which a few weeks prior it was two items period. So here I am hanging out in this line wanting to grab a few things for myself and kid only to see that all the SKUs have been handed out an hour early, and people given 4-6 items SKUs each. So this is what has lead me to leave the review. I’ve shopped here for years. As much as I’ve tried to justify not writing this I can’t not write it now. I wrote a couple and took them down because I’ve had a decent rapport with the associates in the store. However at this point they have broken trust. 1. For having associates sell line placements. 2. Inconsistent practice when exercising the product purchase limits. 3. Being selective to who they sell to. This has become my experience and it’s discouraging. From what should be a very accessible hobby has become a den of gatekeepers who will sell to the highest bidder. My only suggestion is to bar associates from being able to buy high demand collectibles as it’s clear they have shown they can not be trusted with this privilege. That’s how they do it from what I was told when offered the phone number. They will set aside per “employee” a number of items per drop, either for themselves “all good” or to sell to others for a little extra “dishonest”. In which I do have the number but will never use it other than to provide proof of my experience if ever asked. Hopefully they will get this straightened out idk. From the sounds of it unless someone steps in it’s been to easy for them to make their own money on the side so not likely unless someone steps in.

Read moreI rate this game stop located in Casa Grande 3 stars because the amount of money that the will give you for all the games is very low no matter how popular the game is. The old boring title is only a few dimes less than one of the more popular and in demand titles and then you get less if you want cash instead of store credit and on top of that you will get even less if you don't have the membership they have... So, by the time it's all said and done, you only end up getting a few dollars for some games that you paid $60 for a few months prior. There have been plenty of times that I had thought to myself that if I weren't so broke that even a few dollars is going to help, there's no way I would do it cuz it's not worth it. Well, today was no different. This isn't just this location. It's like that at every single GameStop location. It's so ridiculous since they turn around and sell it for more than double of what they bought it from you for. The guy who helped me today was nice and he explained things to me as he did them. So I liked that and overall the customer service was great. The whole thing with being cheap really ruins the score for all GameStop's that I go...
Read moreI went and bought an XBox one controller, not realizing I needed an XBox 360 controller for my PC.(Sorry, not much of a gamer, I own this mistake)And I knew I couldn't return it new, since I'd opened the box, and tried it to realize it wouldn't work. But I was pretty surprised that they wouldn't buy used what they just sold me new. But aside from that, I'm not really sure how Sam got a job in customer service, I waited about 15 minutes while she toodled around pretending to clean before she even considered coming to the register, and then snapped her fingers and pointed down at the register to signal she was ready for me. Her attitude was absolutely atrocious, bleh. At the end of telling me that they couldn't buy back the thing they just sold me, she chuckled and said "Guess you have a controller." Seriously Sam, you aren't cut out for customer service in...
