Stay away. We hired Greg to install carpet, hard wood, some tile, and replace our banister rails. For carpeting, the crew was fast, and has done a decent job, there are a few spots that I'm not pleased with, but it wasn't enough for me to complain about.

Hardwood install, This was subed out to Harmony hardwoods, they took much longer than originally quoted, and did a poor job. There were several joints that were cut poorly, and just puttied. The staining on the floor is uneven and they had to redo large portions of it. we have some nails exposed on the stair tread, floor sealant splattered on the wall, and the crew damaged our furniture. I expressed concerns to Greg throughout the process, and the reply was, "They've done hundreds of jobs for me and I've never had a job look bad" the crew seemed very green and not experienced.

For the tile work. This was the straw that broke the camel's back, our entry area and side bathroom, we made a change and requested that Greg install tile instead. He OK'ed it and said we just needed to buy the tile, then the night before, he told me I needed to buy grout as well, annoying, but not that big of deal. When making the change to the job, Greg said he'd take care of the underlayment and grout. The installer came over, installed the tile directly on the linoleum without any underlayment, this lead to a large gap between the hardwood and the tile. I also had concerns about the coverage of the mud as before the grout was put in, I could see bubbles and large gaps of mud between the tiles. Greg showed up unannounced that afternoon and asked about it, I was not happy as I'd just gotten home, and had just inspected the extremely poor job that was done. Greg asked if a transition piece would be acceptable. I firmly told him no, I wanted the job to be done properly, he then went and got the needed materials and had the job redone the next day. This led to further issues, as the installer did not pull the trim pieces off, and did not tile up to the toilet flange leaving a very noticeable gap of tile by the toilet.

At this point, instead of having Greg attempt to fix this again, we chose to terminate that and the remaining work. We just couldn't trust him or his crews to perform any further work on our house as the quality of work was very poor, and our patience with him...

My husband and I had Greg give us a quote for flooring and we ended up having him and his crew redo a large portion of our house! Flooring was just the beginning…we had him tear out a useless, cramped builder grade “mudroom” and replace it with beautiful cabinets and drawers to house all of our coats, shoes, etc. We also had my sons bathroom gutted and modernized, which was much needed, but the biggest addition to our house was a bathroom in my daughters room! We were told by other contractors that there was no way this useless cove in my daughters room could be a bathroom. Greg felt differently!! Him and his plumber figured out a way to make it happen and it turned out incredible! Greg was so easy to work with, he has a crew that has been working with him for years, they do great work and they show up! My husband and I felt that his pricing was very reasonable and are excited to have him back after the first of the year to update our laundry room!! Our project, a complete overhaul of our primary bathroom, was completed in exemplary fashion. The quality of workmanship was outstanding.

Completion of the work, including several supply delays with lighting and plumbing was completed in 4 weeks. These delays were not caused by anything Greg was responsible for. In fact, when supplies/fixtures we ordered were received, they would often be installed on the same day.

Communications and listening to our suggestions were always met in a friendly, helpful way. No doubt, the care and level of experience showed in the quality of the work.

We are extremely happy with the way everything turned out. Our bathroom remodel looks awesome, and our punch list was very short. I would not hesitate to recommend Castle Rock Flooring and Home Design for any project...
