Entered at 8:50 last night (Google & their in-store signs say this store is open until 9:00 pm). As I stood looking at the digital menu board on the wall preparing to order, the digital menu board suddenly went black (someone turned it off) at the same time someone from the kitchen area (behind a wall) angrily yelled out "WE'RE CLOSED!" ... I asked the only employee I could see "Are you closed?" and as I walked towards him to ask him that, I could see that he had already put all or nearly all of the food away that would normally be in plain view as we're all used to seeing. He acted worried/caught off guard & said he'll go get someone for me. Guy comes out from back area & approaches register & I ask "Are you closed" by now I looked & it was 8:55pm. He said, "I can take your order" -- but by then, I realized I wouldn't dare eat anything that they'd serve me, not knowing what the angry person who had yelled at me might do to my food as it was being preppared. So I told him I had changed my mind and I left. So easy to solve (for all restaurants). If your "close" time isn't an acceptable time to take orders, simply publish (with clear signage) a "Last Order" time. Easy. But the rudness here - when I was kind and cordial (I even said at one point once I noticed all the food had already been put away: "I shoudln't order now ... I don't want to be 'That Guy' ... having worked at similar restaurants way back in high school. This staff needs better training - and should overtly & publically notify customers if they truly don't want to accept orders beyond a...
Read moreI placed an order online at 09:00am for curbside pickup 11:30am I got to Pei Wei at 11:15am I parked my car at the curbside pickup followed the directions given on their sign. I sent a text with my location which was # 2 and waited. A car parked behind me & I saw the person dialing on their cell & five minutes later they brought him his order. Another car parked in front of me I noticed the driver dialing the number on the sign, and 4 minutes later he got his order. After waiting for over 20 minutes I went in the pick up side door, the Asian lady saw me come in, and decided to take care of the 4 customers in line. Then when she was done with the 4 customers another couple walked in and she said took their order, I then walked out of the restaurant & went back to my car, and the Asian lady came with a bag and asked me "Are yew Brannon? I told her "no I being waiting for over 25 minutes for my order" then she mumbled something I couldn't understand that's when I asked her " to get me an English speaking person please I have waited long enough, this is bad customer service" 4 minutes later a staff member came out with my order & said "Are you Mr. Roger Lay? I stated "Yes, I been waiting for over 26 minutes for my order" he stated " We are 20 minutes behind that's why I gave you a brownie for the wait" I stated " I don't care for the brownie, I placed my order at 09:00am for pick-up and it's 12:00...
Read moreThis location has and always will be the best pei wei. 5 stars for a 15 year run with myself and friends with no bumps in service. Sadly I will no longer be coming to any Pei Wei brand establishment. I had a bad experience at the Gilbert location (warner) and complained to corporate. I spoke with Patrick Castle (AZ Pei Wei Wrangler), very apologetic and professional on phone, but he promised they would "take care of me." It has been 2, going on 3 weeks and after numerous attempts NO ONE will contact me or respond to my emails. Come on, comp me a meal or two for destroying my evening with your service. Everything I ordered was left out for 2 hours before they gave it to me. Total wait time 2 1/2 hours!!! A company that does not value/address customer feedback/complaints, is a sinking ship. Time to hire a PR firm to get your image back up after this whole "Online Ordering" debacle. I am not alone in this and was told it is a growing issue from inside...
