So delicious! My wife and I visited tonight when there was less than half an hour until closing time, but we were received warmly and given lots of helpful recommendations by the staff (she told us which fruits were best to have in the tea right now, and which ones wouldn't be good this time of year). Service was extremely kind and professional. And now... the drinks!
My wife's drink: black grape tea with a cheese cap and crunchy white boba, 70% sugar. Utterly blissful. The milk cap here is the best I've tasted across NC. I would fight in a thunderdome for this beverage. Made with real fruit, looked just as good as it tasted.
My drink: hawaii bubble milk tea, 100% sugar. The lady behind the register recommended this, and told me it would taste like flowers. She was absolutely right. Delicate floral taste. The boba were chewy and perfect, though here's something you should know: not sweetened like they are at some other places. I'm not used to milk teas being refreshing, but this was. Would pair wonderfully with a sweet dessert without being overwhelming. Will definitely get again when I'm not feeling fruity!
There are lots of bubble tea options on Franklin Street. I was skeptical when I saw this place opening its doors. Now I'm delighted it's here, and I can already tell you: the fruit drinks are going to be one of the things that makes this tea shop shine among the rest. I'm tempted to go back tomorrow for the mango tea (with cheese cap). It's...
Read moreThis is an authentic boba shop, but most the drinks barely have flavor. Yes natural ingredients are used, but you genuinely can't taste much of them. I've ordered various drinks (fruity ones, Thai tea, taro, black sesame mochi) really hoping to like at least one because I knew it was authentic and natural, but it simply doesn't end up being flavorful enough. Why does a black sesame mochi drink taste the same as the Thai tea? There's no flavor—even with varying sweetness levels. I'd recommend Tiger Sugar if you're looking for an experience like this but the flavors of the drinks are more pronounced.
Edit in response to the owner feedback: I don't think authenticity would be sacrificed if the flavors of the ingredients were more pronounced! I've been to other authentic taiwanese boba shops that have their flavors a little bit more stronger without too much sweetness. I love that you guys focus on natural and fresh ingredients----just add more to the drink so you can...
Read moreMe and my three kids went here about a week ago. The service was so-so as it seemed to be college students and unfortunately welcoming people with a smile seems to be lost to the service industry. My daughter got a shrimp rice ball that she really enjoyed! I got specialty drinks from the specialty menu to make sure I didn't make any mistakes with the assumption that what I saw on the menu is what I would receive. My daughter ordered her own custom drink as this is something she is more familiar with. When I was asked if I wanted any toppings I said "no" but I was under the assumption that I would receive what I saw on the menu which had the "bubbles" in mine and my other two children's tea. After we left is when I realized that mine and my two youngest childrens drinks did not have "bubbles" for the bubble tea in it. The tea's themselves were awesome and much better than the place we regularly go to but it was a huge disappointment to find the...
