Wow! Byrdâs cookies is such a special place! They let you try any and all of their cookies and are happy to do so! So many places try and minimize you trying their flavors but they actually want you to understand how incredible everything is there. Pretty much anytime I go in there with friends visiting from out of state, they leave with a couple bags of cookies. Fun story- for my birthday Hydie (super sweet and fun lady who works there) knew that I was looking for a certain kind of cookie that they discontinued recently but she had just grabbed one of the last bags for herself but told me that if I came back the next day, she would have one for me! It was amazing and so kind for her to go out of her way like that. For that reason (and that those Georgia peach and lemon coolers always call my name) we will definitely be bringing friends and family in there whenever they visit us!...
Read moreWe visited Bryd while in Charleston. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and given samples. We ended up purchasing the crackers and, over the next 2 days, ate them all. I call them crack crackers. We decided to go back and purchase more. They were out of the larger ones, so we grabbed 2 smaller and filled a box with a variety of cookies. My daughter was balancing them and accidentally dropped a whole container of crackers all over the floor. The staff was so gracious and made us feel much better about it. On top of that, it gave us 10% off total and more samples. In this world, it was so nice and refreshing to be around such kind people. My daughter got teary-eyed and said that is southern hospitality, and I wanna move here. Lol From Indiana, but will be purchasing more items online in the future, and if we make it back to Charleston, we will definitely return. Thank you for...
Read moreLove love that they have a sample cookie bar with an option to taste before you buy. However, allowing non service dogs in the store and them jumping up to get a cookie on the cookie bar is not acceptable. We actually left one location and went to the other one. The worker encouraged the owner by engaging in dog chit chat and by petting it - we didn't stick around to see if she washed her hands. Service dogs ... true service dogs are trained to not jump allover the place. We actually see the same owner and dog out somewhere else and it was jumping around there too. That's not how they are trained to act. Henry the dog is a fake service dog.
We proceeded to the other cookie store as they have two on the same strip. We tasted and purchased a couple types of cookies. One was the pumpkin one and the other was a salted caramel. They were nothing spectacular but...
