I had two watches that I initially took to REEDS Jewelry in Town Center that needed more TLC than they were a n le to provide. I was told to go to Joint Venture to see their watch maker. I was made aware they don't have traditional hours of operation. I used the Google to see their listed hours. I called to confirm their hours and also inquire about parking. A kind lady said I should he able to find parking on King Street or on a side street nearby. I found a spot on King about 200 feet before the store.
The store was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. They have various Jewelry and other estate products. I inquired upon entering where the watch maker was located and sent to the rear of the store in a Southern charm manner.
I think it was Braxton who was at the watch counter. He asked what was wrong with the two watches I brought with me. I let him know the Lamborghini Spyder had something floating in the face and the battery needed changing. On the Pirelli P-Zero it wasn't keeping proper time. He looked and s a id the battery looked fine as the second had was ticking. He offered to put it in some dew-hickie (scientific trade name) machine to see if it were off. He then had a huddle with the watch maker to discuss next steps.
They immediately apologized that the two couldn't be fixed before closing that day. I was not expecting same day service, it was a nice gesture that they apologized. I left the two, writing my chicken scratch on a claim ticket and was told the soonest they woukd be looked at is 2 weeks. I hopped into my car and drove back to the Mount P.
I called about 3 weeks later to see if the watches were done and if I didnt get a call because my handwriting is horrible, it really is horrible (I woukd get subpar grades for my penmanship otherwise I was an amazing student). I was told vy Braxton other watch makers were in the area. And they did whatever watch makers do to party. I wasn't in a rush to get them back i really wanted to make sure my number could be read. He said my two pieces were up on deck and would be tended to soon.
A few days later Braxton called and said my watches were ready. I asked how much? The cost was SIGNIFICANTLY LESS. WAY LESS, than I was anticipating for a watch maker to look and fix the two watches. I headed down to the store and found a spot 50 feet from the store.
Parking is important to me as I'm an above the knee amputee, May 2023, that is managing on one cane. Having parking nearby isn't a nice to have its a necessity.
I was greeted again on entering the store. I knew where I was going making my way back to the rear of the store. A gentleman asked how he could help. I immediately apologized that I lost my claim ticket. He said my ID/License could be used in lieu of a claim ticket. I reviewed the work and for the amount I paid, I feel like I committed a crime! I was asked if I wanted to wear one, I had a watch on, and was offered a paper bag, putting each watch in a plastic pouch. I appreciated that as I have 1 free hand. I paid in cash, so they wouldn't have to oay the merchant fee on a card transaction.
I wasn't done. There was a Tag Heuer and Bulgari that caught my attention. The Bulgari is more my speed as it has a resin/rubber strap. Im not a fan of metal bands for their feel and leather because they wear overtime. I digress. I wasn't prepared to purchase a watch today (the day writing this review) it is intriguing. (HOW 'BOUT A NICE DISCOUNT FOR THIS COMPREHENSOVE REVIEW??? LOL)). OK, kinda serious)
Does this store have the fancy carpeting, the men in ties, the ladies in short tight skirts the ubiquitous standard Jewelry cases, the smell of an orchid, or Vivaldi playing in the background? Nope.
They have creaky floors, old (well kept) carpeting, and an over the top friendly knowledgeable and moral staff. Where do you want to spend your money? On the polished shoe experience or a store where I'm getting a fantastic deal from the amazing staff because I'm not paying for the fancy tie. Seems like an...
Read moreMy husband bought my engagement ring at Joint Ventures 20 years ago. I had purchased a beautiful engagement style ring in HS, bc I just loved it. I wore it on my right hand. I had no intention of marrying until I met my husband. At some point I stopped wearing it. Bc he knew I loved my ring, rather than the new (at the time) engagement rings, he took my beloved ring to Joint Venture. Joint Venture then found my actual engagement ring at an estate sale. It isn’t crazy showy, but it was perfect for me and unique. So perfect for me. I was never part of the process, but they listened to what my husband said. They asked questions about anything I’d ever expressed that I loved (baguette gems). They asked the things he didn’t know to offer. They also asked his budget. In 20 years of marriage, I have never seen a ring like mine. My husband didn’t want to resize it, even though he had access to my other rings. He gave it to me with a simple chain and they resized it for free. They also gave us a lovely bottle of wine Since then, he’s bought a couple of pieces. Their commitment to excellence hasn’t changed. I’d recommend them to anyone wanting a unique piece of jewelry. Talk to them if you don’t find what you’re looking for. These guys want to earn money of course, but I believe they genuinely want you to love your piece...
