OâSuzannah is one of the most thoughtfully curated shops Iâve visited in a long time. If youâre in Charlottesville and need giftsâor just want to treat yourselfâthis place is a must. The selection is equal parts charming, artistic, and unique. I spent more time than usual browsing and still felt like I could have discovered more.
The store is filled with beautifully displayed items: childrenâs clothes in cheerful patterns, colorful kitchen linens, quirky and creative books, handmade paper goods, and so many thoughtful little finds. Itâs clear that someone with a true eye for detail and design puts their heart into choosing every item here.
What really stood out to me was how organized and inviting everything felt. Even though the store is packed with treasures, it never felt cluttered or overwhelming. Thereâs a cozy, artistic energy that makes you want to linger, and each section has its own personality.
Whether youâre shopping for a childâs birthday, a housewarming gift, or something uplifting for yourself, OâSuzannah has something that feels special and personal. I left with a bag full of giftsâand hope to return the next time Iâm in...
Read more**Update: have been two more times in the past two weeks for purchases. Meet the owner one day, she was incredibly down-to-earth and friendly. On my second visit, two other associates were friendly when I was at the register, but never engaged several other people browsing around the store, just chatted amongst themselves. Bizarrely, consistently unfriendly. I've been to this store several times over the past few years and have never been approached or welcomed. Sometimes I browse, sometimes I make purchases. On Dec 31st, I was in the store for over 30min, most of the time it was just myself and a woman at the register. I spent a long time looking at $200+ necklaces, 6 feet away from the woman just texting on her phone. My husband entered, I told him how lovely the necklaces were, honestly trying to see if she would dare engage with me, the customer. Nothing. I bought a few items and left. It's puzzling how aloof staff are. Like, I would have bought twice the products if they would have just spoken with me. What...
Read moreI am an African-American woman who visited this store on yesterday afternoon with my daughter on our very first trip to Charlottesville. I moved to Richmond, Virginia, from DC a couple of years ago. One of the most appealing traits I've enjoyed about this area is the friendliness of the people here. I also love visiting quaint little shops for unusual and different items. On my visit to this shop, there was no friendliness or kindness shown to my or me daughter the entire 20+ minutes we were there. No greeting upon entering, no "May I help you," while browsing (even though an employee walked by me more than once), and nothing said as I departed. I visited other shops in that area and was treated very warmly and kindly. I plan to visit Charlottesville again, but this will not be on my list of places...
