My boyfriend and I went to Kay earlier today to get my tennis bracelet repaired, the woman with graying hair told me that the repair would cost $139. Now, the bracelet in question was barely worn, I did not wear it daily and I hadnât worn it in a couple years because it would fall off of my wrist. She informed me that because I wore it daily (I didnât) that it had worn over time so now parts of the clasp needed to be replaced. I only wore it on special occasions and really thereâs no good reason besides poor craftsmanship (I can only assume) that would cause it to near immediately be worthless. It started falling off the fourth time I wore it. She got very short with me, her tone was nothing short of cold and condescending. Iâm unsure if she assumed because weâre in our early 20âs, we just really werenât worth her time or what but it bothered me for the rest of the day, hence my review. Thereâs no good reason that this bracelet should have issues already and I canât help but think Iâm gonna end up repairing this bracelet for the rest of my life if itâs only good for minimal use in a 6 month period. Iâve heard similar stories from friends about this bracelet, $700 for it to break constantly. My boyfriend also noticed the extremely poor customer service and for that reason, itâs likely weâll look elsewhere for larger purchases. Itâs really a shame, that woman should look into an in the back kind of job; I couldnâtâve been more uncomfortable and upset by her miserable attitude. Needless to say, I did NOT have my bracelet repaired today.
Update/edit: Kay Jewelers never reached out. I brought the bracelet to a reputable jeweler who pointed out several things about it including poor craftsmanship. Area around the diamonds was meant to reach a price point rather than going for high quality. The clasp was cheap and weak. They offered a new, stronger clasp for less than Kay did (likely wouldâve replaced it with the same crappy clasp). Iâm never purchasing anything from Kay again and will never recommend...
   Read moreI went to the Cherry Hill mall location recently. I was in the mall and decided to have the woman check to see when was the last time my jewelry was inspected. She seemed like she was going to help me but then another employee in the store told me they werenât doing inspections and when I asked her why she said because the employees are getting sick from touching other peopleâs jewelry. So to me that was just an excuse to not inspect my ring. I proceeded to tell the woman that makes no sense and you clean your hands after you touch anything. She had an attitude which in turn caused me to have attitude. I turned around to walk out the store and she repeatedly said wow, like she was amazed at what I said and apparently annoyed. The next day I called corporate to complain. She apologized and they stated that they technically are not inspecting jewelry until January 2021 and you know, that is all the woman at the Cherry Hill Mall store had to say and that perhaps you can go to another Kay jewelers for the inspection. I explained what happened and she immediately started to look for a replacement ring. She looked through our area to no avail and then branched out to the tri state area and then the entire U.S. Unfortunately her exact ring was no longer in stock, but Dina and I started to look for rings together. She verbally held my hand through the entire process, emailing me pictures, checking prices and discount options, you name it. Dina answered all of my questions and was one of the most polite and most prompt reps that I have ever worked with. You know someone has given you A+ service, when you hang up the phone and you are smiling from ear to ear. I've truly never met a rep, nay, a person, (sorry wifey) that is as genuinely caring and considerate as Dina. I will be shopping at Kay Jewelers with Dina D for every special occasion from here on out!
