Love the brand, the store, and the product.
Unfortunately the employees and service at this location do not match the quality product they provide. I went in for battery replacements and to birthday shop for my partners birthday, I made it clear I wanted to shop more. The sales person made up a client profile, which I informed her I already had one. Then the new profile she made wasn’t saving my email, as the profile email was already in there system so she made up an email. I wanted to shop around more and she kept going behind the register to ring me out. I was asking questions about what size bands for the watches I brought in which she told me and said they are at the front of the store. She persisted to stay behind the register the majority of the time and I would have to go back up to her a few times to ask questions about product, while she’s still standing behind the register. I was hoping for a better experience and to be shown more ideas for gifts as I spent time looking online before going in, the way she showed no interest I should have shopped online. I was wanting and willing to get a few more items, but the lack of engagement stopped me.
Went in to pick up the watches the following day, the sales person the pervious day did not confirm to me the name it was under. So when I went to pick it up, I was unsure and asked if they can look it up by phone number. The other sales person assisting seemed unhappy I did not have the name, as I told him I did not get confirmation from her as she was not very helpful or informative during my interaction previously. Finally went to get the watches but still seemed unhappy/bothered.
I have had better interactions at the Damen location in Wicker park, with wanting to give suggestions and conversation when in store.

Read moreFits the classic Shinola store feel with intricate interior designs and a wide range of products. Employees have always been friendly upon my visits, often offering complementary water, coffee or Shinola Colas. The product selection is in-line (if not better?) than many other locations.
My only knock here is that employees sometimes seem a little confused by their own product offerings, whereas other Shinola locations will have employees that know each product to the exact detail.
