Decided to rent some crab pots from ole captain steves and upon doing so was never warned about them not having weights(all pots do,usually rebar) to hold them down on the bay floor. After launching the pots in 4 ft of water the tide started to go out as so the pots, well needless to say I lost one and had to pay for it and was charged rent on top of it and lost 2 hours of fishing time in a rented boat chasing the damn pots! Im thinking this might be a way for him to sell his pots. After confronting him about it he said hes never had anyone lose one and just that morning had said they lose them all the time from ppl dropping them in the deep part of the channel. This guys a real shister and anyone I told the story to on the island(as in locals) all said he should have known better! A small box of squid was $16.99 so I mostly caught my own bait...
