I was shopping at my local Target in Christiansburg, VA this past weekend. I was in a checkout line, but wasn't paying attention that the light was not on since I was getting a candy bar and a drink before checking out. The cashier asked if I was intending to check out, but I notice the light was off, so I said no, I would go to a different register, that it wasn't a problem. I then moved to the self-checkout line. This weekend was particularly crowded with customers as our 2 area colleges were moving in students. The same cashier, Jeremy, then came to me in the line and stated if I was paying with a card he would scan my items and get me checked out quickly. I was paying with a card so he very efficiently scanned my less than 10 items and even got a bag for me. I was stunned at the kindness and level of customer service. It had never been out of the card board wrap. I called and was told how to file a claim. Did so and each time I check on it I get no response. It is now almost Christmas 2021 and still no response. Since the card was unopened, it would appear this was and inside job at this store and they do not want to accept that fact or make things right. I hate Walmart but Target has shown their customer focus is not anywhere close to Walmart's. Read morePurchased an item in store one day. Returned it the very next day. 4 different employees weren't competent enough to process a return. They referred me to guest services who only assist with online orders. They also were very difficult to understand because their customer support isn't US based. One the employees reached out to the "director" who was equally useless. Although my return complied with their terms and conditions for a refund, they chose to not refund me and encouraged me to reach out to corporate to file a complaint. 1 hour later a competent employee processed the return without a problem.
