I am so frustrated. I have been a Kroger customer since I moved to Columbus in 2006, and a Kroger delivery (Boost) member for years. We’ve had a few issues in store and through delivery during this time, but never anything crazy - one damaged item, late delivery, delivered to our neighbors, etc. Today was the worst though! It’s just groceries, I know, but my husband is very ill and I have two young children, so I am very reliant on this service, today of all days. I spend tons of money at Kroger, like many of us, today’s order being no different. First, it’s odd that my order is not out for delivery when it normally is. I pick the 7-8am ET window every Sunday. Thankfully I had no plans, as the truck didn’t show up until 8:22am. Offer still, the truck was across the street. I walked over and told the driver if he was here for (our address), we’re across the street and he’s welcome to park in our driveway. He was sooo confused, looking at the mailbox, clearly clueless. I offered again and he made some incoherent response, so I went back home. After some time in his truck, he opened the other door and brought the order over, still across the street. I thought it was odd how quickly he did it, and the number of bags was less than usual. But, I brought them all in to start getting things unpacked. Imagine my annoyance when I open a bag to see a package of honeydew melon completely open, with the fruit and liquid all over! And then in another bag, a sour cream container sliced open on the bottom, leaking all over everything (including the bell peppers just floating around in the bag)! Worse still was the two random, disconnected yogurts from what should’ve been a pack of four, clanging against more strewn random food (plums this time!), split open. Ok….those things are annoying. But then I open a bag and it had SHRIMP! Of which my husband is allergic, and I would never order. This driver gave me two bags of someone else’s, and literally didn’t give me almost HALF my order. Over ten items missing, countless ruined or destroyed. On the day I can’t just easily pop to the store because again, small children and husband who is sick (went to the ER later today). I do my best to clean up the mess from this horrible order, then call Customer Service. If you have ever had to, you know it’s miserable. Outsourced, hard to understand, not helpful. But this was so much missing I had to. The wait was actually almost non existent, but the agent was awful. When he realized what a mess this order was he kept sighing, like I was ruining his day. We went back and forth, and he literally couldn’t imagine why I’d want reimbursed for my bacon, which was free thanks to a personalized coupon. I could not get him to understand why I would then need to be compensated for the “free” item or given a coupon so I could buy it again for the same free cost. Won’t bore with more details but this went on for a half hour, with me getting more and more frustrated and him not helping. Finally he said he’d get a refund but it would need manager approval. Long story short, after many more holds he tried to back peddle and say he’d find the driver. Now hours after my order was originally supposed to be here. I then asked to speak to the manager to get the refund I’d been promised. Hence my review here, for corporate. Cherry kept calling me “mom”. I had enough and asked her to please stop, and either use my name or not address me as anything. I try very hard not to take frustrations out on agents, but I was over it at this point. After more back and forth she finally processed my refund as was originally promised. I can see that good service is out the window for Kroger. I am so irritated that I am probably going to stop giving them my business and go to Giant Eagle instead. Since this Monday 7/1, I have spent $760.43 at Kroger - no joke. So, Kroger Corporate- please know we have a choice as consumers, and these countless missteps really make...
Read moreThe one-year delivery service is a scam. They say orders over $35 are free if you pay for the year of delivery. But every time they say items in your order are out of stock, and they do not give you an option to cancel after they tell you that some items are out of stock. This forces the total to go below $35, and they charge you $9.95 for delivery and also demand a tip (a tip for what? I PAID for each individual "free" delivery after already paying for the year of "free" delivery!). They refuse to refund it, no matter what. Instead they want to give you what they call "store credit" to use in person at the store, creating a never-ending cycle of having to spend more money at Kroger. "Store credit"? No, it is not. They're basically stealing your money and then proclaiming that you MUST spend ten more bucks at their store every time you order from them. It gets pretty ridiculous. Last month I ordered enough groceries for the week, more than $35, and they said every item I ordered was out of stock except one. They gave me no option to cancel after telling me that I would get only one item from my order. They actually seriously sent someone to deliver to me one tiny little piece of ginger root, and they charged me $9.95 for the delivery and asked for a tip on top of it! So I was stuck with no groceries and a $9.95 "store credit" that I was forced to pay for! And then of course every time Kroger does this to me I have to order from a different store since Kroger is always out of most of my order (conveniently for them, since they can force my total under their $35 required minimum for the so-called free delivery). In fact they are NOT out of stock of those items. Several times I've known people who were in the store in person on the day of my delivery, and they said there was plenty of the items I ordered. Kroger just has to claim that items are out of stock to force your order below $35 so they can charge you ten more bucks for each "free delivery" that you paid for when you bought the year of deliveries! Kroger keeps charging me so much to use my year of "free delivery" that I paid for, I can't afford to keep using my "free delivery" membership anymore! Don't trust Kroger's delivery service. It's a scam. I can't afford to go use my many "store credits" (AKA the money they've stolen from me and claimed as their own) that I've racked up because every time I shop at Kroger I get scammed again and end up with another even bigger so-called "store credit". I can't afford their "store credits". NO MORE! I'm never shopping at...
Read moremy 78 years old mother got tricked by one of their stores in Lynnwood WA. One the employees sold part of furniture as full and when we had to collect we found out they only sold us a piece of furniture but told us to collect two boxees. Anyway The store manager wanted to cover up and first wanted to return the item without our consent. When we wanted compensation for 250 delivery which was cancelled due to Fred Meyer employees incompetence , they refused to help. Amazingly they said we don't train our employees we just out them at work and they learn by doing mistake. Custom care and quality service is amazing. I was shocked to hear this.
Amazingly we were told by one the employees that the store manage would contact us the next day but he didn't. (So either he is a very important to call a customer , or doesn't care about the customer or perhaps because we are not white I don't know why but he didn't ). So my 78 years old mother decided to go to store because she thought Fred Meyer would compensate us because it's their mistake. I advised her to not to but she did . And store manager's second technique was to lie to her and said you son already returned it and casenis already closed !! She called me to ask me and luckily I was near the store and went to Fred Meyer store as soon as I could to face the lier Fred Meyer store manager and prevent any absue or tricks to my mother because she is old and can be scammed easily at this. They wanted to say it is already returned to cover up their mistake and force a 78 pays the costs of their mistake . (How low a human being could be I don't know ) and they took it back right away as soon as I was there like they didn't say it.
I called hq to complain , they listened and they said they call back. Unfortunately the same level of ignorance and carelessness in HQ . I guess like many places it's because if you have a foreign accent , many places don't take you seriously. .They are so irresponsible or perhaps because I have accent I'm not worthy of a response and if course the white store manage would win by lying because he is born here and he is white.
Im never seen such a low level of ethics anywhere. I feel sorry for Kroger that has to earn money like this.
If you did a mistake , man up and accept it and fix it.your sales sold a piece of furniture as a whole . She did a mistake , we wouldnt buy it if we knew the true price and we wouldn't return her...
