Habib's Atmosphere Is Hair — Local services in City of New Rochelle

I can’t speak for anyone else at this salon but my experience with the lady that did my hair named Sarah Humphrey was absolutely awful. I never leave reviews but after what I just endured, I feel I need to warn others about her. First off I was kept waiting for what felt like 15- 20 ish minutes before getting started. Then once she finished washing she kept me under the dryer for longer than usual but I figured that was probably because I had requested both a deep conditioner and protein treatment. Although I assumed that would be two different treatments but I guess she has a way of combining the two into one long sit under the dryer. Fine. But then once the dryer stopped I wasn’t sure where she went. I thought maybe she was in her work space in the back and maybe she couldn’t see me to know that I’d finished. But once I got up I realized she was just sitting at a table in the back on her phone. I walked up and waited for her to look up but she didn’t. Someone else sitting at the table got her attention and she rudely sniped, “ I’ll be right with you. Go back and have a seat.” I went back and she washed me and put a towel on my head. I realized it was the same towel that was sitting on the seat of the dryer with brown spots all over it. I asked for a different towel and she refused stating that it was a clean towel stained from doing color treatments. Then during the straightening part she burned me several times. Once it was all done she said, “Thank you for your time,” without even looking up from her phone. Once I left I noticed that I was overcharged. Sooo not worth it! Save your money and go...

I didn’t want to give this one star because I like Denise and have been coming to this salon since I was a child but I really was disappointed with my last experience with a new stylist Sarah

I booked an appointment online for the first time for flat twists with no added hair which was $85 but ended up being charged $160!!!

I came into the salon with 6 large loose twists from sectioning my hair previously after washing my hair the previous week and was charged a $45 take down fee even though it took less 3 minutes and I helped her!

In all my years going to Habib wash and blow dry have always been included in the style but I was charged separately for that as well. When i looked online again there was no option to separately book a wash or have it as an add on and there was no mention of any take down fee.

My hair came out fine but $160 was way too much to spend on 8 flat twists with no added hair and she left my ends very janky.

I expect my hair to feel somewhat tight just after styling but after a few days my scalp was still in pain and I discovered that my parts were not straight in the back causing hair from other sections to be pulled into the wrong twist and caused extreme tension from the angle. My hair bulbs started popping out and I started to scab on my scalp. After over paying for the style I had to take the twists out after less than a week.

So...

I was actually in the salon on the day that ms dot was there... FIrst let me start by saying Denise would never cut a clients hair without their consent and a consultation. This lady came in an Denise did her hair over because she said “I don’t want the Money back I just want my hair done over” . Denise acutely did this clients hair 3 times.... There were so many people in the salon that day, I can’t imagine how you can tell a bold face lie. I have been a client of Denise 33 years as well and I have seen you Ms Doris. I always thought you was a classy lady (I wanted to be as fly as you when I get older) You have truly disappointed me with is mess here. I’m sure there was a more mature way to handle this situation then the way you are going about it.... You are not telling the story the way it actually happens. You are missing serveral parts. 1. After 3 times of doing your hair over and giving you back your money, yes she asked you to leave her establishment, because you became irate an was talking over a coustmer while she was getting her hair done. 2. You was a customer for 33 years then you know Denise WOULD NEVER EVER cut someone hair without their permission.3. Why would you want someone to do your hair a 4thime after you the threats you made to her. This story is not being told correctly and that...
