January 2023: Visiting the Falls with the family for the Lunar New Year, and decided to give this place a shot.
Located on the 3rd floor, this is sort of a hidden treasure that does not stand out to potential customers. The only way I found out about it was through the parking receipt, which offered a complimentary $10 coupon.
Pros: Fun, exciting space to entertain the family. It is like a Dave & Busters except with an all digital ticketing system. Customers load their cards with money at the counter and then play via tapping their cards at their desired game. The tickets won at the end of each round of play will automatically load onto the card. New VR gaming that looks awesome. The staff is super friendly and worked with us to get the prizes that the kids really wanted with their ticket amounts.
Cons: We wanted to do the VR games, but there were only 2 people working, which was not enough for the number of people that started pouring in on an afternoon. Ultimately, we passed on the opportunity due to the long wait time. In hindsight, we should have done the VR gaming when we first arrived because there were very few customers at that time. The digital ticketing system would accumulate and provide false positives. It took me a few times to figure out what was going on. For example, we played a game and won 40 tickets. We decided to play it again and won another 40 tickets. However, the display shows 80 tickets won. It got kinda confusing for the kids who thought that they won more tickets than they actually did. An improvement for the system would be to display the tickets won for the round along with a separate line for total tickets...
Read moreI recently took my son to Vortex VR Arcade during our trip to Niagara Falls, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience for both of us!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a vibrant atmosphere filled with excitement. The layout of the arcade was well-organized, and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the various VR experiences available. They took the time to explain everything to us, which was really helpful for both of us, especially since it was our first time trying virtual reality.
We started with a few games, and I was amazed at how immersive the experiences were. We tried a mix of action-packed games and some more laid-back options. My son particularly loved the space adventure where we had to work together to complete missions. It was great to see him so engaged and having fun, and I must admit, I was just as hooked!
What really stood out to me was the cleanliness of the facility and the focus on safety. The staff made sure that all equipment was sanitized between uses, which gave me peace of mind as a parent. Itâs clear they prioritize the well-being of their guests.
Another highlight was the pricing. The arcade offers various package deals, making it affordable for families. We ended up spending a couple of hours there, and it felt like a great value for the fun we had.
Overall, Vortex VR Arcade is a must-visit if you're in Niagara Falls, especially if you have kids. Itâs a fantastic way to bond over some exhilarating games, and I left with some great memories with my son. Weâre already talking about coming back next time we're...
Read moreThe VR was all in Korean I couldn't understand it, I played the zombie one and I understand they don't really make the games but they do buy them and they bought some Asian bootleg the zombie game was too loud I couldn't understand what was happening, the attack sound was identical, the zombies were way too hard to kill and then a bigger and badder lizard guy showed up and wiped us out an then the game crashed and ended our play through earlyđ it crashed before the session as well and the game when it did have English (only written) their was a spelling error we were supposed to have 16 minutes, the game was way too loud and the outside environment was too loud as well. Not the people there they were fine. But they had this same ad for Omni arena playing on loop at high stinking volume, completely unnecessary, the only thing the employees said the zombie one was the best one, and honestly it scared me but because it was scary but because of how violently loud and repetitive the audio was, another complaint about the game the flashlight turned off, and it was hard to tell where they were now this might have been explained but again it was in Japanese or Korean or Chinese I'm going to be honest I don't think they paid any money for those games because there are plenty of decent VR games i didn't recognize a single title (when they were translated) one of the games is "juarssic" the zombie game was made in unity, and the unity icon spazzed out and if I had epilepsy I would've had a seizure. And the gunshots are so jarring.
overall experience...
