The first thing I would say is that when it comes to protecting your own, there is nothing wrong with that! Approximately 4 years ago, I made the mistake of judging a book by its cover so to speak. Oneonta Coin Company is by far the best coin shop I've ever visited. The selection of items ranging from old coins to antique furniture is second to none and I don't trust my business with anyone else.

Jim, the owner, is like a human encyclopedia regarding the items for sale as well as the items customers bring in hoping to sell. Not only can he give you a fair and accurate price, he knows quite a bit of history about the items as well. I'm always amazed at the new things I learn every time I visit.

Update: My previously scathing review while at that time was harsh, now requires an update which is standard practice for critics. During the process of evaluating any kind of retailer, there are always multiple sides and edges that need to be sanded and perfected in order to provide the best possible image of a given retailer. Despite my scathing review however, the owner (I think) welcomed me into the store to discuss the prior review which I am now amending.
