I have to say - I am so disappointed with this store! I've been a customer here for a while, but recently started going back as I have gotten back into my fish hobby after a pause. First off, let me say - the employees are the most rudest bunch of people I've EVER encountered in my life. All of the positive reviews on here saying "great customer service" obviously don't stop by this place that often. The first time I went, I spoke to a man named Arthur. I absolutely enjoyed him. He really knew his stuff and helped me so much. I was so excited to go back. Well, I had been back a few more times (on the days he wasn't working) and I encountered the most hateful employees. When I purchased my fish, one of the guys was irritated with me because I picked out two specific fancy goldfish I wanted (in a very small, overstocked tank.) He was annoyed that I wanted the two healthiest looking ones of the bunch. He gave me a few huffs and puffs. The other times I went back, some of the people I spoke to acted like I as an idiot with the questions I asked. One lady in particular kept giving me a snobby, dirty look - and trying to push all of these products on me, instead of just helping out and giving me some information.
I don't understand why they were so rude to someone willing to do business with them. It made me so uncomfortable. One day I came out of there with tears in my eyes because one of the much older men I spoke to was EXTREMELY rude to me. I asked him a question about cycling a new tank, and when I was trying to break it down for him (since he acted like he knew nothing about what I was speaking of) he snapped and said "Yeah, I know how it goes!". I was so uncomfortable! I ended up walking out of the door. I will NOT be giving them anymore of my business, ever. I'll travel over to Kentucky before I ever step another foot in their door! I'll also recommend my family and friends elsewhere.
Also - their reptile/small animal room was disgusting. I walked in, and turned around and walked right back out. This was such a...
Read moreI have been to this store quite a few times and I always feel like my skin is crawling by the time I leave. Their birds are crammed into cages much to small for the volume of birds in it, the water is always low and beyond filthy and their food dishes are full of empty shells. I asked today about a pair of Lady Gouldian Finches they had available. I had seen both birds a few weeks ago and they did not look very healthy. Today they were even worse yet they were still willing to try and sell me sick animals. I also enjoy fish tanks but I would never buy from here. 70% of the freshwater tanks were riddle with fish carcasses stuck in filters or in the plants of the tanks. I know that fish die and one or two here or there is fine. However, this was not the case. There were upwards of 7 fish per tank dead on average and they had been sitting in the tanks long enough to begin decomposing. The staff is relatively knowledgeable on the fish they carry, however they ignore you unless you approach them most of the time. They did not even know the name of the birds I was inquiring about and that is a red flag for me as well. I normally do not take the time to write reviews but I really think this place needs to take a hard look at how it is doing business and how it is treating the animals it has. I am tempted to...
Read moreI love this pet shop. It's locally owned and ran. The staff is so extremely knowledgeable! The prices very fair and the selection is unbelievable! You can even request specific fish to be ordered if they happen to not have it. I recently became a aquarium mom and took on a pair of leopard geckos to look after until my brother and family are back in the country. Research is very split on both of these subjects on dr. Google so I was a bit confused but trying to get it together. Greentree got me together! They specialized staff that are so knowledgeable and own or even breed their own animals. The info I found about my fish was all wrong and the trip I made to feeders (don't get me wrong, i love feeders and they do a great job) crowded my decisions even more. They helped me understand the basic ideas of care, the ins and outs of each pet and explained everything I needed or even just wanted to know to make better decisions. Their guidance has helped me understand what info on the wild west internet is actually legit and what is hype. I owe it to them that my tanks or critters are alive and thriving.
P.S. updating because I just left and noticed the Christmas sign. It's beautiful how they are opening there arms to anyone who might be lonely on...
