I am currently engaged in an experiment (or perhaps a self indulgent quest) to explore the psychoactive effects of authentic English Stilton cheese, especially on dreams. The Cheese Shop at the West Side Market carries a particularly tasty variety of Stilton that I am pleased to report has a pleasantly robust effect on my nocturnal adventures. Apparently 70% of the population reacts to the pennicillium mold strain in Stilton cheese and I am pleased to be among them. To be fair, the Cheese Shop has an extensive collection of cheeses from around the country and the world. The 2005 study by the British Cheese Board also found that cheddar cheese caused celebrities to appear in participants' dreams, Red Leicester was likely to cause dreams of the past while Lancashire focused on the future.
