As a sales representative who prefers to support small businesses, Iâve used Buttermilk Sky across multiple locations without issueâuntil now. Unfortunately, my experience at the Colleyville, TX location was deeply disappointing and unprofessional.
I accidentally placed an order with the Colleyville location instead of the one I was physically at. Upon realizing my mistake, I immediately called Colleyville and spoke with the manager (who I later found out is the ownerâs son). I explained the situation, and he assured me the order could be canceled and refundedâno problem.
The next day, I received a call from his mother, the owner, who stated that her son had no right to approve a cancellation and that she would not honor the refund. I was stunnedânot only had I followed every step to do the right thing, I had received confirmation from the storeâs manager. Her response? Accusing me of not having the money to pay and suggesting I was trying to âget overâ on their business. It was not only insulting but completely uncalled for.
Whatâs worse is that during the call, her son walked in and, when confronted, denied ever telling me I could cancelâdespite the fact that he very clearly had. I have no reason to fabricate this, especially considering this was a small order and the refund has already been disputed through my corporate card.
This experience was upsetting not just because of the refusal to refund, but because of how I was spoken toâdismissively, unprofessionally, and dishonestly. In the grand scheme of things, that single order was nothing compared to the potential repeat business theyâve now lost.
Sadly, Iâll never use this location again, and I caution othersâespecially those placing larger or corporate ordersâto think twice. Customer service matters, and integrity matters more.
RESPONSE TO COMMENT FROM OWNER BELOW:
To clarify once againâI called and spoke directly with your manager, who confirmed the order could be canceled and refunded. Your exact words were, âMy son had no right to approve the refund.â How would I, or any customer, know heâs your sonâor that his word doesnât hold authority?
I did my due diligence and followed the proper steps. I spoke to the person identified as the manager, received confirmation, and made my decision accordingly. For you to then reverse that and treat me with such disrespect is unacceptable.
Customers beware: this is not how you treat people. Iâve already contacted corporate, and I stand by everything in my...
Read moreWe had planned to have tiny pies for my wedding, and our original choice dropped off the face of the earth, so I contacted Buttermilk Sky Pies in desperation. I made sure before I ordered that they had coconut, chocolate, buttermilk, and banana cream flavors, because we had chosen those flavors previously to pay respect to our grandmothers and their favorite pies, it being even more important to us because me and my husband both had a grandmother pass away within 6 weeks before the wedding. I was told those flavors would be no problem, and that even though they don't normally do their tiny pies in all flavors, they would be happy to for the special occasion and were very nice, helpful, and even confirmed our flavors several times, being told it was no problem. The day before the wedding, my aunt drove over an hour to pick the pies up and she was told that they donât have a banana flavor at all with no further explanation, even though we had tried the banana previously, and were given a bunch of strawberry and key lime pies instead (that no one ended up eating.) She didnât know any better so I didnât find out until I was looking for a banana pie to have at the wedding since that was my favorite as well. If they could not do the flavor they had promised I would have loved to know ahead of time and would have been a little upset but understanding, not so much so when I canât find them at the wedding. They also said that they âran outâ of 2 in tins so we had to go with the 4 in, which seemed odd since I had still placed the order a month in advance so that wouldnât happen. They tried to make up for it by giving us more pies, which was a nice gesture, but now that the pies were also twice as large as planned, that left us with twice as much to throw out even after giving most away. Was happy for the most part, but for them to promise a particular flavor for a month and then the day before try and say they donât even have the flavor, just added to the extreme stress of the day, especially since I had expressed the importance of the...
Read moreCame by the other day to get my birthday pie. Ordered a regular size chocolate cream pie, paid while the attendant asked the lady in the back I'd they had any more. She said no but they could throw one together really quick. I said no, that I would just change to a banana cream pie. We got home and took the pie out a couple hours later, I noticed that the pie filling was pulling away from the pie crust and that the filling had a hardened like film on the top, you can see the color difference between the top layer and the rest of the filling, the top layer was rubbery...we went to cut it and the pie stuck to the knife like crazy. We ended up needing to rinse the knife off completely between slices. The filling had completely separated from the crust and was just clearly old. We ended up throwing our pie away. I'm pretty bummed since this was for my birthday. I've bought the 4 pack of mini pies here before and they've always been delicious. I hope they get this corrected sooner rather than later, but for the price I will try some more shops around before returning.
The customer service was good, the reduced stars was because they sold me something that they didn't have in-stock.
The ambience is adorable and well decorated...
