Pikes Peak Ranger District — Local services in Colorado Springs

Absolutely horrible service. I got there at 410 to get a firewood permit and the person says that the computers are so slow today and it will be past 430 to complete so I have to come back another day. I told him I would have to take off more time from work to do that. His response was "you should do that" he tells me he stops working at 415 although the hours are until 430. I come back another day at 1245. Their website says closes from 12-1230. There is a sign posted on the door thay says we will be back at 1155. I waited for another half hour and no one showed. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. There is no way to get the permit online and you can't get the employees to...

So I am not sure what is happening here. I called, guys says he is open (apparently it’s a one man show). No mention that the office is closed and you have to drive to memorial park. Phone does not get answered, I called 13 times and finally drive down. Nobody there, the guy apparently comes and goes as he pleases, and there is only one person at the whole office? So I come back again, nobody here. All I want is firewood permit, and you have to go in person. The Weber office can pay for my fine of collecting firewood if this is how they run their Pikes Peak District of the USFS. Guess I’ll try and find the time the employee “feels”...
