We came to Homa CafĂ© to celebrate Motherâs Day, and I honestly couldnât have picked a better spot. From the moment we walked in, the space gave off a calm, grounded energyâmodern, stylish, but still very inviting. Itâs the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable, whether youâre there for a casual meal or a special occasion like we were.
The food was amazing. Their menu is incredibly niche, in a good wayâoffering unique dishes you wonât find at your typical cafĂ© or brunch spot. Everything we tried tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Itâs clear they put a lot of intention into every ingredient. This isnât a one-size-fits-all menu. Itâs something you could come back to multiple times and discover something new each visit.
The ordering process is a bit different: you grab a menu and order at the barâthereâs no traditional server or host. But honestly, that adds to the laid-back charm. The staff at the bar were super friendly, helpful, and patient while we asked questions. They even gave some great suggestions.
I also appreciated how inclusive the environment felt. You could come here with your family, on a date, or even solo to work or relax. Itâs got a great community vibe, with people from all walks of life enjoying their meals and just vibing out.
Overall, Homa CafĂ© really exceeded expectations. It made our Motherâs Day feel special without being over-the-top or fussy. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good food, good energy, and a unique Colorado Springs experience. Weâll...
Read moreHoma Cafe + Bar, which makes up the ground-level floor of Kinship Landing, has quickly become my go-to place to work from â when not in the office or at home.
I love Homa's oat milk latte from the tap, I get it nearly every time I visit. I don't often go out to eat because I'm a writer and I'm poor, but I have had a couple food items and they were fantastic. I've had one of their handpies, which I would compare to a large empanada; I had the Momo: lemongrass, sweet potato, cheese, charred leeks, chicken. I got it with the lemongrass sambal dipping sauce.
The menu describes them as "palm sized." I don't have large hands necessarily, but I wouldn't say they are small. Anyways, maybe the chef messed mine up, but it was like for Andre the Giant, if it was "palm size." ...maybe they mean palm leaf?
Additionally, I've had their most recent soup. I can't remember what all was in it because I said "Yep!" before they finished describing it. It's some kind of butternut squash, beer cheese soup and it's so d*mn good.
Finally, I had a friend from Indiana visit me who still needed to work remotely and I suggested Homa Cafe, and he loved it. Also, another person from Indiana who is moving to the Springs visited last week, and I told her she had to try the oat milk latte â she did, and said it was "AMAZING."
For what it's worth: I have written a quite a bit about the food & beverage culture in Colorado â not as much lately, though. That's all I got....
Read moreVery cute and modern! This is the restaurant in the lobby of Kinship Landing. It's minimalist, wooden and has wonderful plants, sunlight and gives off a happy vibe. They have a limited menu of salads, sandwiches, soups, pies and burgers. Drinks include coffee, some alcoholic choices and of course, kombucha.
I got the St. Ives handmade pie and a side of Cauli-pops while my friend got the pulled pork sandwich with shoestring fries. The pie was delicious. I am not the biggest fan of venison but man, was it super tasty and the onion and potatoes worked perfectly with the venison juices. The pie crust wasn't too thick or thin, so you can bite into it like a bar. It's probably not enough as a meal by itself. The Cauli-pops were a great side. Deliciously roasted in a slew of spices with a nice spicy/tangy mayo dip, they were hard to stop eating! I managed to finish quite a bit of that portion but took the rest home and it was delicious even a few hours later.
The pulled pork sandwich was also delicious. Filled with pulled pork and caramelized onions, it was very filling. Did I like it more than the St. Ives? No, because it could've done with more seasoning. The shoestring fries were good.
Kombucha was delicious and a perfect accompaniment.
All in all, a great find and actually would be really nice to come and stay at the hotel too! 4 stars because they have a...
