WOODLEYS BUYER REMORSE: We purchased a $4,000.00 leather sofa approximately two years ago and today it isn’t worth the dead cow it was harvested from, It is worth $200.00 as a cow hide as that’s what the senior manager (Tim O’Connell), who has been with Woodleys for over 30 years, would offer to pay me for it. My name is Robert Bryers and I’m a disabled military veteran with over 30 years of service (thought that would be a nice touch) and I purchased the sofa for the specific purpose of sitting in it for an extended period of time, each and every day. (Due to my disabilities I’m limited in mobility and need to sit a lot during the day.) (NOTE: Mr. O’Connell told me that this sofa wasn’t designed for extended use.) Fortunately, at the time I was able to afford to purchase a well built and designed dual recliner sofa. The sales lady stated that this design type, which is made of leather, would only get better with age and use and would conform to your body. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations and I’m left with a $200.00 slice of cow hide. In reality, it truly isn’t designed for family use. The sofa wasn’t actually utilized to expectation for approximately the first year and a half until my adult son moved in with us on 3 July 2017. He is disabled and took up sitting in front of our tv, generally reclined on the sofa for 10-12 hours per day, unless he is playing his online games and then he sits on the recliner chair directly in front of the tv, for half the day, each day of the week. The result of my son’s utilization of the leather sofa broke down the back cushions and it now feels like you’re sitting on a piece of lumber, and its painful. Please remember the NOTE above concerning the sofa isn’t designed for extended use; don’t buy Woodleys. My wife called Woodleys and they sent someone out to check on the sofa in a timely manner. Then on 5 Dec 2017 Tim O’Connell called and advised me that the manufacturer wouldn’t cover the repairs and neither would Woodleys. Conversation with Tim O’Connell This didn’t go well, although the $4000.00 sofa can be repaired at my expense at an amount to be determined at a later date. I don’t know what the repair man (Nate) said who visited our house on 1 Dec 17 but Mr. O’Connell seemed to think my son was living on the sofa. In fact, when the repair man was here at 11 A.M. my son was on the chair in front of the tv where he usually is that time of day. However I forgot to tell Mr. O’Connell this because when we were talking today my son was sleeping in his bed and was not in the living room with me. So, he spends about 4 hours in the chair before he moves to the sofa on average, each day; my bad. Now that I have had time to review these issues, I’m under the impression that we have a lemon for a sofa and my wife and I are stuck holding a gutted cow. Mr. O’Connell seems to think we are getting a good deal that Woodleys are agreeing to fix the sofa, at my expense, because that is what good businesses do. I think we would be better served if Woodleys reimbursed us for the sofa since it’s a lemon, and Mr. O’Connell did ask me what a good price would be for a $4,000.00 sofa…and then he back tracked and offered me $200.00. What an insult. We have patronized Woodleys for many years and spent thousands of dollars on furniture. I would have thought that would count for something now that we are having a significant issue with the quality of their product and their promise to stand behind it. I can no longer support Woodley's and I would advise any buyer to be aware of their unreliable and expensive products that may only be...
Read moreWoodley's Furniture is by far the best furniture store we have ever purchased from. The first thing that struck us was that the staff were extremely helpful when we came into the store. We were looking for a dining room table and chairs and were not having much luck of finding anything that we liked at other furniture stores. We explained the style to the sales rep (Mark) and he was super helpful in showing us the wide variety of dining room table sets that they offered that fell into our category. Also, Woodley's had, by far, the largest selection to choose from. In the end, they had to order in the set that we wanted and unlike other large furniture stores in the Colorado Springs area they did not charge us extra because they had to ship it to their store which was really nice. Not only were they super friendly but you could really tell that they cared about our experience and they made every effort to make our purchase easy and enjoyable.
When we got the set home we noticed a scratch on one of the chairs. I took it back into the store fearing that I would have to go through a long process of arguing and explaining that I was positive that chair came with the defect to the staff in order to get it exchanged. I was pleasantly surprised when I took the chair in and they immediately replaced it with a undamaged one without raking me over the coals and trying to convince me that I caused the damage. This really is what made me realize that Woodley's truly values customer satisfaction.
We highly recommend Woodley's because of their vast selections, super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and their commitment to customer satisfaction. Thank you for making our...
Read moreI received my new bedroom set recently and could not be happier with it. Having spent over $5000.00 I believe I have gotten a great value for my dollar. My wife as well is extremely pleased, and as you know, Happy Wife, Happy Life.
My concern is that on the day I had my furniture delivered, I began receiving over 250 marketing e-mails a day to my e-mail account. This is a form of harassment that I have never encountered.
It takes me over 1-1/2 hours a day to click on the unsubscribe button to get rid of them, and yet they continue.
I do not know if your company is selling contact information to marketing agencies or not. But if you are, SHAME on you. It may be that it is the Wells Fargo Bank selling my information to these abusive sharks. either way, I will be giving a huge amount of FREE advertising to this extremely vile practice of either you or the credit agency that you are employing.
It may well not be you. But it then would be the credit agency that you are using and if you do not police them, then you share their guilt and shame.
I am sorry to make this accusation at this time, as every bit of my experience up until the delivery was phenomenal. But it cannot be a coincidence that this practice started almost exactly the same afternoon after my furniture was delivered.
I am heartily disappointed to have done business with you, and Wells Fargo. I will be paying this balance of immediately and NEVER again doing business with either of you, and I will be telling all my co-workers, friends, fellow congregants at my church, and anyone else I feel needs to be warned about this sick business practice of...
