The instructors are fine for the most part, but I’m not sure they actually know anything about the development of children. They seem to have a set of things they do and aren’t able to handle anything outside of those set things. So, it’s fine if your children are older, but don’t bother enrolling them in learn to skate if they are 3/4 (they accept kids as young as 3).
Also, the lady who works the front desk doesn’t actually like to do any work. We asked to pay for the next round of ice skating classes and she said everyone is encouraged to register online. Meaning, she didn’t want to ensure we would come back-she just didn’t want to do any work. When I asked to pay for open skate she she was going to charge us full price, even though enrolling in learn to skate means you get free admission to open skate for each week of class. And when I needed to pay extra money because they changed the prices of the classes on me after I already registered my kids and paid the money, she said that was impossible. Again, she just didn’t want to deal with Money or work. It’s the weirdest thing.
Lastly, if all that money stuff wasn’t enough, the staff talk about the kids and the classes at the front desk for anyone to hear. I heard the woman who manages all the classes that she wasn’t going to let someone interrupt the flow of classes and then continued to complain about whoever this was for the next 5 minutes. Then when I went up to pay for open skate she’s talking about switching classes and how one kid in particular is really difficult, but hey, he’s just a kid. Regardless of who they are talking about, it all seems very unprofessional and embarrassing for whomever they are talking about.
We won’t be signing our kids up for classes again. We’ll drive twice as far if it means better instructors and a higher level of...
Read moreWe rented a room there to have a birthday party for my 4 year old granddaughter and we were ripped off! When we made the arrangements we specifically said, we were paying for the skate rentals and entrance of the children that were guest only and the entrance for the parents. They charged us for other adults skate rentals and $72.00 for the room. We were there at 12:50pm to set up, that wouldn’t let us set up the room till the clock stroke 1pm. The staff there is very sad so it didn’t make it easier. Had all these charges on my card the next day and Tiffany, very rude hung up on me when I asked her for the breakdown of the charges. Called back and she pretended to be someone else, asked who the owner or supervisor was to make a complaint and she said, the Arena has no owner or supervisor and just put me on hold and left me there. Called back again and they will not answer my calls or if they do they leave me on hold. For a place categorized as entertainment, I have never dealt with such a nasty person in that manner before. She is unprofessional, rude and very nasty! I will never do any type of business there again and if you’re having a birthday party, I highly recommend going somewhere else. They don’t want your business and they certainly don’t want you there! BTW, kudos to the restaurant there who catered the party, they were great!
The place does have a Supervisor, his name is Alan Long in case they tell you the same...
Read moreThe ice skating is great, BUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CLEAN, AND FIX THE BATHROOMS. Womens restroom in the ice hall is terrible and this is an Olympic training hall? 2nd, or third stall from the front literally looks like someone chewed on the front of the toliet seat. Several doors don't close properly. No hooks to hang bags in several stalls. The lighting is so bad it's hard to see if there is even pee on the seats. I want to love this place, but the restrooms are embarrassing for a place claiming to welcome Olympians to their facilities. I will add photos if this...
