What a wonderful place to interact with people. And a great spot to find a special toy for your loved ones. I highly recommend the shop for those who have discerning taste and want to see their family members succeed. Definitely a place where you can obtain high quality and extremely safe products. It's location is in a supremely beautiful part of downtown. The shopping is very very easy around that area. Parking is very close as well. Stops are easily found on the street or in the garage right across the street. It's so easy to access. And they have such wonderful products. For real the development of your loved ones is very very very important. Please stop by if you have a chance... even if it's just to say hi. It is well worth your time. And you will leave with a very good impression and a nice fealing feeling in your heart. It's almost like a paradise in that store. Practically endless options for play and inspiration. And of course you could always custom order things. Or special order items. And the owner is such a warm and wonderful person. You will have no regrets. And you will just be enchanted and enlightened with the light that grows from you after you rediscover the joy of learning with your family. Once you've purchased your gifts for your niece then you can stop next door at Lakota for a nice iced coffee drink. Definitely do what you can to support this business. They are so fair. And so reasonable. And so patient. I love this store. I love these owners. And you will too. They have the utmost respect for all their customers. In fact for all people. Including people who just happened to take a pause to stretch out their back. You must always trust your toy seller. Absolutely. Because they have your best interest in mind. This is why we choose to use the speckled frog. They have the experience to know what works for all types of kids. This is the toy store for everyone, normal or not. not just above average kids need incredible toys. But all kids. There are some kids that have special needs. They can help you with that as well. They also have easy access internet shopping and also easy covid pickup curbside. Local door stop delivery is also available. Very handy in this era. It's worth the effort.. Couldn't even imagine a world without the speckled frog. It's the North Pole all day long at the speckled frog. Santa Claus doesn't take a break after Christmas. He just gets ready. And Santa Claus never leaves coal in stockings. Remember love your family and friends forever. Please support...
Read moreWe traveled from San Antonio Texas to visit my brother who's sick in the hospital in Columbia. The family and I were already in the area and we wanted to check out a few stores before heading back to the hospital. Thought this store would have been great to get a few things for my kids to bring back to Texas for them as they stayed with their grandma back home. When we looked up the shop it said it was next to the pinball arcade shop but when we looked it wasn't there. So we headed to the ice cream shop down a few blocks and to our surprise this store was across the street. After we got done with our ice cream we went to check it out. There was a very old lady sitting at the register or where you pay and my husband NICELY! Mentioned to the old lady, like hey Google is saying you're still down the road and not at your new location, she mumbled and said something then said rudely Yeah well there's nothing I can do to fix that. We weren't asking her to at that moment. But she could if she could comprehend using the internet and figure out how to fix it. If the old lady is tired of people mentioning and wants to be rude about it then why not email Google to fix it instead of being rude about it? Makes no sense. My husband saw a few things my son would have enjoyed, like the wooden sets that were a BBQ set or the grill set that cost 185 dollars or less but I told him no considering how rude the old lady was. Plus you can buy the same things for CHEAPER!! On Amazon. Good luck with the rude old lady oh and the overpriced...
Read moreI went in here a couple years ago with my child while waiting for something, we had some time to kill downtown. My kid was like 6ish at the time and we were looking around and checking everything out. Basically the lady was so extremely rude to us and I'm pretty sure it was a racist/islamophobic thing. She was super rude to us about being about to close and basically kicked us out but she wasn't closing for another 20 minutes and folks had come in and out after us and she wasn't rude to them at all. We were there for less than 10 minutes I'm sure cause I kept looking at the time and when she became so rude I started to try and make excuses for her like maybe it was closing time but there was a full 20 minutes left and folks came in after us so that's not why. Now every time we pass the store my kid wants to go in and I have to remind him the owners are islamophobic and we aren't safe or welcome there. I forget the exact words said as it happened a year ago at least but when I saw them on Facebook I felt inspired to write this review cause they hurt a child. It's one thing being racist to adults but they really were so nasty to us and mind you my kid is so well behaved we weren't disrespecting the store or anything. Just figured folks should know not everyone feels...
