Just like several people have said before - the salesmen here will size you up and if you don’t fit their criteria they’ll just ignore you. As a business person myself - that’s just not smart because a lot of people that can afford these suits purposely don’t dress up. I went in here years ago in 2012 and if it’s the same - then we’ll that’s just sad. Means customer service saying they care isn’t true especially if they haven’t changed. I went in there with the intention to buy suits for my wedding. No one needed to sell me - just help me find a good suit and get fitted. In fact I got my father in law and his friend to buy one too. I eventually did but the experience was horrible to get there. As a business person - if they just helped everyone that came in (even if they weren’t dressed nice) they would probably up their sales. And looking back there’s so many other high end suit places I would go elsewhere. So flashback - I first came in here as a young 30 year - there was a older black sales man with glasses just standing there - staring at us. Few people came in and he helped them right away and of course they didn’t buy. It was almost as if we didn’t exist. I eventually got helped by some bald older white man. When the store manager called to say my suit had arrived I told him the situation. Instead of taking the constructive criticism he acted like it didn’t exist. But good for google reviews we see it does exist and a decade later too. I ended up buying a full suit from there because the quality was good but had the experience have been better - might have bought more. Thankfully today there are so many other options. It’s sad to read the reviews and see that this practice is...
Read moreI want to share my wonderful experience with Canvas at Jos. A. Bank Men’s Clothing in Columbia, SC. When Darlene from Men’s Wearhouse, a sister company in Columbia, called Canvas urgently searching for a black French cuff shirt I needed for the 250th Anniversary Ball for Army Chaplains, Canvas came through immediately. He had the shirt in stock and kindly agreed to hold it for me until I arrived.
Not being from Columbia, I unfortunately got lost twice and made several wrong turns along the way, which caused me to become increasingly late. Realizing I was running out of time, I had to abandon my efforts to pick up the shirt despite the amazing teamwork from Darlene and Canvas to make it happen.
When I finally arrived at my Airbnb, I called Canvas to explain the situation, and he was incredibly understanding and kind. His patience and compassion during a stressful moment meant a lot to me.
I feel truly blessed by the exceptional guest service I’ve received repeatedly here in Columbia, SC. Canvas and Darlene exemplify what great customer care is all about, and I’m grateful for their help...
Read moreI have to give 5 stars just because the young gentleman that assisted me was put into a tense situation he didnt deserve nor expect and he handled it exceedingly well. I had gotten into a bind at the hands of another local clothier and had a time sensitive issue. I entered this store trying to remedy the situation and was quite tense and rather angry when I arrived. That young man helped me anyway even though he could tell something was very wrong and I was overtly upset. The tension was almost palpable with me at the time. After explaining to him it wasnt him I was mad at and what my situation was, he was able to immediately assist me in finding the solution to my problem. That young man's kindness and professionalism made all the difference that day. Is this store the best clothier in town? I dont know and I can't testify to all of their services either. However, they earned my return business simply for how I was treated and if I can get that young man's name, i will edit this review so you can all know what a great guy works over there. He alone made that...
