First impression is that the main entrance door blends in with the wall. As we walked in, we were impressed by the decor and vibes. Millennials fit right in from the playlist, the darker painted walls with a hint of classic elegance, but unique with their lighting. I appreciate their attention to detail with having hooks for personal items on the side of the booths.
We came at 6pm on a Thursday and got seated right away. Our server went above and beyond. They were knowledgeable and passionate about the menu as well as knowing how to converse but not overstay.
The menu offers a range from fusion entrees to traditional sushi. On the drinks side, they also offer traditional sake to more fusion cocktails.
We ordered the House Sake and Yozora. The drinks tasted good and the presentation was unique - the cocktail was served in an elegant tea cup.
On the food side, we started off with Scallop Carpaccio. This was fresh and tasty, a fusion appetizer. You can taste the sweetness and buttery scallop. The sauce was a wonderful mix of tangy and spicy.
We then had the miso soup and the house salad. Nothing special about the soup. But the salad was one of the best ginger dressings I’ve ever had. The dressing was fresh and not watery, perfectly blended in taste and texture.
We then got the Maki Combo and Unagi Don. For both entrees, the rice was ever so slightly on the hard side. The maki’s fish quality is good, but not the best the area has to offer, definitely within the price point. The unagi don was not fully traditional since it came with a side of pickled radish and topped with seaweed salad.
We ended the meal with their seasonal dessert. It was an artistic masterpiece that included a matcha mousse and strawberry compote on top of sponge cake. It was delightful.
When I think of this place, I think of elevated upscale hipster fusion. The feels of a North High Street restaurant but in Polaris. Overall, what sets this place apart is the atmosphere, drinks, and desserts. This would be a great place to meet up with friends for a good meal. If you’re looking for more traditional Japanese food, this is...
Read moreThis might have been the best meal I’ve ever had. Every bite was amazing, and the service was just as exceptional. Our server, Haley, was phenomenal—warm, attentive, and incredibly well-informed about the menu. She made us feel truly taken care of.
We started with the green salad, and it was the perfect introduction to the meal. The ginger dressing was vibrant and flavorful, and the cucumber was so fresh - it tasted like it had just been picked.
Next came the gyoza, which somehow was both simultaneously crispy and soft. The dipping sauce was tangy, a little sweet, and packed with flavor.
Then came our main course: the Manhattan roll and the steak hibachi, which we split. Both were out of this world. The sushi roll was made with tempura shrimp, topped with spicy tuna, eel sauce, and a drizzle of spicy mayo—absolutely perfect. The fish literally melted in our mouths.
The hibachi steak was a perfect medium—and it was extremely tender and soft.
And then… dessert. We shared the white chocolate mousse cake from Helen’s Heavenly Bakery. The cake comes in the shape of a mushroom, and I still can’t get over it. It was almost too pretty to eat—a delicate white chocolate shell filled with silky mousse and a surprise center of strawberry and basil compote. The coconut-dusted rim added a fun texture, and the whole thing sat on a bed of crushed Oreos. It was whimsical, inventive, and unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before.
If I could give this restaurant more than five stars, I would. Every single course was outstanding, and the overall experience was flawless....

We dove right into a variety of rolls that showcased both classic and creative flavors. The Tropical Roll was a delightful burst of freshness with its sweet mango and creamy avocado perfectly complementing the tender fish inside. The Rainbow Roll was a colorful masterpiece—layers of fresh tuna, salmon, and avocado atop a classic California roll that made every bite a celebration of textures and flavors. And then came the Kiss of Fire Roll, which brought a bold, spicy kick balanced beautifully by the cool freshness of the ingredients.
On the drinks front, I sipped on a crisp martini made with Watershed vodka, which was smooth and perfectly chilled. Meanwhile, my husband enjoyed the Gilded Pear Martini, a sophisticated concoction featuring the same local distillery’s vodka with hints of pear that added a lovely, subtle sweetness. Both cocktails were crafted with care and paired wonderfully with our meal.
Every dish arrived beautifully presented, and the quality of the fish was impeccable—fresh, clean, and delicious.
