A typical Indian ( subcontinental) grocery chain. It’s a pretty outlet, as compared to the Chicago, or NJ! I stopped by for a quick pick. It was a Sunday morning, and quite packed. They have mostly everything whatever you need from an Indian grocer. The usual rice, atta, lentils, snacks, spices, biscuits, frozen items, fresh produce, puja stuff, etc. the fresh vegetable section was nothing impressive. Most of the stuff doesn’t look very fresh. However, other things were pretty usual. I didn’t spend much time. Columbus area had some big, promising Indian groceries. So Patel Brother must stock up, or bring something extra fancy to the table for keeping up the competition.

This is a decent Indian grocery store with one very exceptional aspect: it's the best place to buy OKRA - I go out of my way to come here to get fresh okra. For okra it's vastly better than my nearby grocery stores such as Kroger or Giant eagle and I've found it fresh here any day of the week - it always seems to from a fresh box delivered/opened/sold all on the same day. They also have much better prices on many Indian products such as chutney, spices, pickle, etc. And, they have some fresh ingredients such as curry leaf or Indian vegetables which aren't sold at most other stores.

Arguably the best Indian grocery store in Columbus. Well stocked, efficient staff, easy to navigate. Very busy on the weekends but the weekends are also the time when veggies are fresh. Some stock is always around the expiration date, and once you bring it to the notice of the staff, they'll take it off the shelves. So check the expiration date of whatever you buy. I once had something billed twice. It was corrected when I brought it to their notice. But you'll have to have your original bill and comeback within a week.

Patel is the best place to buy Indian food and supplies. This would definitely be a five-star rating, except there are A LOT of check out problems here. I was there once when there was no one servicing the checkout lanes for over 15 minutes in the morning just after they opened. I gave up after that long and went to a neighboring store. I looked in later, and there was still no clerk with the same people still waiting in line. Unacceptable! I never go there on the weekend because there will be at least 10 people in each lane, and most of those people have full shopping carts doing their week's shopping. With that number of people in line, the registers are not all open....
