I had to edit my review from 5 years ago (yes, that's how long I have been going here, and regularly at that.) I have noticed a decline in Bibibop's portions in the last six months or so, depending on who you get, but today's experience warrants a review so here we go. I have never been treated so rudely at a business establishment in my life and like I said I've been a regular customer for years. My one child is extremely picky. He only likes rice with beans and cheese, and potatoes on the side. I have asked for a side of potatoes with no problem before and wasn't charged extra even though the worker filled the container with potatoes. Still, I made sure to politely ask and I pointed out that my son gets so little on his bowl in the first place. The worker put like 4 or 5 pieces of potato in the container and said "this is what you can get without being charged extra." I didn't want to argue so I kept it moving. Another man, Greg, who I think is the manager proceeded to finish my order and put-I kid you not-maybe 2 tablespoon of beans on the bowl. I said "I'm sorry but can you please put a little more? All he gets is beans an-" but before I could even finish speaking he cut me off with a curt "That's fine!" I understand portion control, having worked in the restaurant industry for many years, but this was just ridiculous. Not only that, but to be treated like an annoyance is absolutely uncalled for. I have been here many times and have been given generous portions and treated in a friendly way but frankly whenever this Greg is around, it's a completely different experience. Sadly I will not be going back. I would rather spend my money at another establishment that cares about its...
Read moreDefinitely worth a second look. It's pretty overwhelming the moment you step in on your first time. They have purple rice! So I ask myself what should purple rice taste like? The guy in front of me got it so maybe I should to, I do. Also, potatoes on my Asian food? What is this, America? Then you get to the meats, chicken, spicy chicken steak or something that looks like mean but is in fact a veggie. It's Asian so is it really spicy, hard to say. I chickened out, in other words I got steak. Then on to veggies, most of them are pretty normal then there's unidentified yellow stuff and unidentified white stuff, I listened carefully to the guy in front of me to see what he ordered, no help there he stayed pretty safe getting only identifiable items. I braved it, "give me a little of everything." Next sauce, yum, yum, ginger, Sriracha, hot Korean?, And teriyaki. I panicked and got yum yum and ginger, the lady looked at me like I was crazy, whatever lady, you guys have potatoes for Asian food, who is actually crazy here? Then you pay. I should have gotten the sauce on the side but you live and learn. Overall the food was good. The veggies were fresh, the steak was on par with other chains, the sauces were good, yes I even liked the purple rice. It's going to take A few times to figure out what flavors work well together and which don't. I'd definitely go back...
Read moreIt was a monday afternoon, i didn’t want to make dinner so i decided to go to bibibop which usually isn’t a bad choice. I walk in and am first met by the death glair Esam. Now this wouldn’t be the end of my experience with Esam. I first ask for extra noddles, he then replies “of course” and continues to give me not even one serving. Then ask for extra broccoli and he thinks that 6 pieces of broccoli is extra. trying to giving him a chance i ask for extra extra egg and tell him to “cover the top with egg” he then tries his best to sprinkle the top with the smallest amount and when i ask for more he sprinkles another very small pinch in egg. Now if i ever go back and I see Esam working i will simply drive to chipotle across the street and i know they will give me the portions i ask for. Esam also seemed to be a manager so he is no rookie to the job, so when someone asks for extra of something that isn’t an up charge then you should give them the amount they want. I have never had any problems with any other Bibibop employees...
