The shopping experience on the floor at Nike Citadel Outlet Store in City of Commerce was great until I got to the cashier. Angie did not greet us with a "Hello", a "how was everything" or even a smile. Instead Angie, immediately showed her frustration by taking my tennis shoes out of the box with a mean and bothered look on her face. When she threw the shoes back in the box after checking that they were the right size, I told her to please be kind with the shoes and the box since they were a gift for a friend and I did not want the beautiful paper lining to be wrinkled much less torn. I only said this because Angie was being extremely blunt in her handling of the product. Visibly bothered by my request, Angie stared at me for a few seconds, said absolutely nothing and proceeded to now literally throwing the box with so much force inside the bag, making a louse noise on the counter. It was only obvious that she was now intentionally making it clear to me that she was indeed extremely upset with my kind request. After seeing her rude attitude, I held back and said nothing because my 2 young daughters (ages 13 & 15) were with me and I did not wish the situation to escalate. In a low voice I did say, "unbelievable" in hopes that she would see that I was indeed very disappointed with her service. I paid and Angie did not bother to say "thank you for shopping" or "have a great day", nothing came out of her mouth. Both my daughters picked up on Angies extremely rude behavior and as soon as we walked out of the store, they asked me "why did you allow her to treat you like that? She was was so mean to you. You did nothing to provoke her." I told my girls that it was obvious that Angie does not enjoy her job and that unfortunately some people do not have the capacity to service people with kindness and respect. Some people are not cut to be working in retail if they do not truly enjoy working with and for people, in this case customers. If a person does not have the touch to provide a good environment and be welcoming and courteous to customers, then they belong in the warehouse and not on the floor much less in front at the cashiers where they are the face and image of the company. I consider myself a very positive person and I want to believe that Angie was simply having a very bad day. Maybe a customer before me got on her nerves and I unfortunately paid the price. I don't now her reasons. All I know is that I did not deserve that treatment especially in front of my family. Truth is we all have bad days. However, I strongly encourage that these employees take the day off on those bad days, or take a break to regain themselves, and most importantly be reminded that they are there to make the Nike shopping experience a good one for all of us, including the staff members. A periodic training on customer service would come in handy as well to remind and encourage your employees to always treat customers with courtesy and respect. As a teen I worked at Carl's Jr. and later in my 20's I worked in retail and one of the most valuable lessons that I took from those experiences is that a simple smile comes a long...
Read moreI was looking around for the first 15 minutes in the store. I then started shopping the aisles for some great running shoes. I was asked by an associate if I needed any help just let him know. I learned while shopping the aisles, I couldn’t really get a good low price without spending a lot so I saw a back wall with shoes that were marked down. There was an additional 30% off of the marked down price. I was able to find the Nike Downshifter 12 in my size and those shoes fitted my feet, too. After all of the searching and researching for shoes I decided to buy the shoes. I workout in them and they are amazing. I haven’t gotten to jog in them yet but once I do I will update this review. Andrew P assisted with checkout. He was very kind and amazing with assisting with me. I asked if I signed up for rewards through Nike if there was a discount and he said yes, an additional 15% off. I was desperate to sign up but the data connection wasn’t great for my phone. Andrew got one of the store’s device and helped out with getting me registered. I appreciate him for that. I also was able to get the %15 off with the purchase. The shoes were initially 54.99 without tax, but after the discounts were applied the total came to $26.23 . Thank you Nike.
Service (4)- fast and friendly. It was Friday so I expected the lines to be packed and they were, but cashiers were working fast.
Quality (4) - the shoes I looked seemed to be in new condition. The ones that were on he back wall were questionable but they didn’t seem to have damaged products on the wall.
Cost (5) - the cost was amazing for Nike shoes. They weren’t priced too high or too low. They seemed to be affordable and within my budget, especially, after...
Read moreFirst off the store is like a mad house & trying to find an employee that will answer a questions is ridiculous. A lot of shoes that were on clearance didn't have prices listed. I asked a girl a price on a shoe and she literally snatched from my hand and walked away, didn't say I'll be back or give me a second, very rude very unprofessional. Upon purchasing 2 pairs of shoes we later discovered at home that the security tags was never removed from one of the pairs of shoes. I live about 1 hour 45 minutes to possibly 2 hours away depending on traffic. I called the store to ask what I can do, the person suggested I come back in and ask for a manager for a discount. I returned to the store 2 days later and spoke with Courtney Marshall (manager/supervisor). She first stated "today's the day for complaints" I proceeded to tell her how far I lived and how inconvenient it was to drive back due to an employee failing to remove the security tag and the stores alarm failing to go off. She said "what do you want me to do then?" I said well we drove all this way I want a discount. She informed me they no longer had friends and family discounts she could hand give me, but would give me her email and I could email her so that she could email me a discount for the future. I sent email to her as she requested, 5 days later no response. It's very unprofessional, but no surprise being that half the staff is rude so why would management be any friendlier. I love Nike and the quality of their products, it's sad that this store and its employees represent this...
