Well after my last car purchase, I didn't expect to be making a trade so soon. But since I did, I'm glad I did this with Team Toyota. Why? Well, the most important thing for me is the access to maintenance and service. Being able to use door to door service for a nominal fee, that means everything to me. I'm disabled and also immunocompromised so I can't be in waiting rooms hanging round or taking ride shares. This is key for me. In a worst case scenario I could always drive there and rent a car until service was done. This is also very valuable to me, I need to have a car available for doc appointments and just to keep my sanity by going out for drives as I'm able to do so.
Second most important thing is to have a reliable vehicle and be able to get service in a timely manner. Without that support, the product is really meaningless. I have been a Team/Carousel customer for a very long time. I've never had an issue with their service department, they have always been straight with me. My last visit is what prompted me to consider abandoning my newly acquired vehicle for a Toyota. They are about 2.5 miles each way from home.
When I needed to rent a car, Karen in the rental area was helping me out and she was a very nice person to do business with and was very accommodating to be sure the rental would work for me while my vehicle was in for service.
I decided to ask about a Tacoma, and got the ability to work with Maria. She's truly amazing. She took the time out of her day to show me what I wanted to see, helped me understand features and whatnot, but also put together a package that I could accept and move forward with. She got everything prepared as she promised to do, had everything ready to go, and was able to make my time at the dealership quick and easy. In and out. Such a blessing! She also briefed Corey in finance about my desire to move through things quickly, and that happened too. Have had the pleasure of dealing with Corey in the past, a really nice guy!
Anyway, Maria helped to bring things full circle! She offers her assistance after the sale if needed, and she is honest with the transaction - she presented full transparency with pricing and didn't waste my time with back and forth nonsense.
I will recommend Team, yes. And for a sales person/customer rep, I'd definitely recommend Maria. Ask for her, she's going to help you and take the time to listen to your needs and what you are looking to accomplish. I know, she did this for me!
Great job Maria, Karen, Corey, and also the service department for my recent repair and recall on my 2020...
Read moreBased on some of the other reviews and the answers from Team Toyota first let me say that the name appearing on my Google account is not my real name, after all it's the internet. This is not done to deceive, but to protect myself online if I say something people don't like. With that being said, here is my issue. The car was fine, the salesman was fine and the facility was bright, spacious and clean. My issue is after spending over an hour with the salesman, test driving the car and providing all my personal information I was told that I can now proceed to finance and I could then drive home my new car that a third party would be looking into my background to make sure I am who I say I am. Now you may say that I am deceptive over my google screen name but I clearly stated the reason for this. With ID theft running rampant in this country today, I understand the reason for the background check. My main issue with this is that the salesman waited to the last possible moment to disclose this to me right before I signed off and drove away. Would this have stopped me from the purchase?, probably not. I don't think it was the salesman's "style" if you will to not disclose this until the end, I am guessing that he was told to disclose this at the end rather than the beginning for fear of scaring away potential customers. Perhaps I am mistaken about this but if Team Toyota is reading this, which they very well may be, a better policy would be to tell people up front about a background check so if this bothers them they can consider this at the beginning of the process, not the end when your ready to commit. As a retired professional marketing person with a degree in this field I have a firm grasp of what motivates people and what doesn't. Although it was still my choice to go through with this and my choice alone I truly believe Team Toyota would better serve their customers by being transparent about this in the beginning. This "check" will reveal I am indeed who I said I was but as I previously said, it was not necessarily the policy, I get it, but the problem was the timing.
As to the owners response, the salesman clearly said "background check". Perhaps he should have stated his position more clearly or re-phrased his statement. Also, he clearly stated that this "check" would be done by a third party, not Toyota. With that being said, as far as I'm concerned I am done commenting on this situation, I know what I heard....
Read moreI'll start by saying our sales guy, Rich, and the sales manager, Dan, were great. They get 5 stars personally. The issue came in the finance office with Nic. I was a breath away from walking out of the deal and never returning.
I was offered the $4,000 warranty, and when I repeatedly declined, Nic got irritated. He refused to take "no" for an answer since I had a warranty on my previous vehicle, so I "obviously saw the value in it." I asked what was Toyota's cost for the warranty. "If you promise to leave us a 5 star Google review, I can give the family & friends pricing." Still overpriced, so, again, no thank you. "Well its only $xx per month additional." NO THANK YOU, that's over my budget. At this point, my fiance walks out so he doesn't start in on Nic. Nice continues to push. "I feel like an idiot, I just WASTED my coupon because I was sure you would say yes." No, thank you, its not in my budget. My Subaru warranty was $1500, not $4,000. He proceeds begin the insults, "ueah, Subaru is cheap anyway." I was just stunned, wondering if he really just said that. Fiance walks out, again, so he doesn't rip into this guy. I apparently have the patience of a Saint having been raised in the South, or I'm too stubborn to lose, maybe both. Nic continues with his sales pitch, "when xx breaks, are you willing to pay out of pocket?" He's trying to sell this warranty so hard, I begin to question if this vehicle is going to break down as soon as I drive it off the lot, and express that to him. I'm am about to say screw this deal, i'll keep my "Cheap" Subaru and go home. This goes on for half an hour. Nic basically throwing a tantrum and muttering things like, "ok, I guess the deal will be blown over $30 a month," etc.
I have NEVER felt this degraded or insulted in a finance office by a guy pitching a tantrum over being told No. There qas zero respect for my repeated "no", nor for my hardbearned moneh that I wa schoosing to spend there.
If it had not been for the straight forward and kindness of Rich and Dan on the sales floor, I would have been out of there immediately.
No, its not a 5 star review as I was trying to be conned into leaving for a discounted warranty, but its 2 stars overall. Rich & Dan get 5 stars. Finance gets 0, and even that is...
