Had a limited time frame (couple hours) this Saturday to shop freely during a visit to Conway because of family plans to hike north and enjoy sunlight for the remainder of the trip. I had been eyeing three clothing pieces in the store window every time we passed it for three days and finally, when the opportunity arose, myself and four family members drudged on by foot through a rain storm to get to Penny Lane with hundreds in spending cash during their busiest hours. I had barely lifted one coat hanger, still soaking wet from being outside in a thundering mess a minute ago, and this tacky over-smiler approached us with pure apathy in her eyes and told us we had three minutes to leave the store so she could take her lunch break. I really hope this professional underachiever reads my review so she can count every one of her teeth and be thankful for my grace in letting her keep them, because there’s a chance she could have been left to eat her sandwich with gums that day if I hadn’t ushered my cousin back out the front door before she could come at her with her own display stand. We had to walk all the way back to our resort, in the pouring rain, empty handed.
Best tl;dr I can summarize for management would be that I was prepared to spend enough in your boutique to make your sales quota for probably the entire weekend. Your unwillingness to put more than one employee on the payroll ruined that, so if you are genuinely too stingy to hire employees for your own store you are completely unfit to own and...
Read moreI drive from an hour away on regular basis just to go to this shop (nevermind the rest of the awesome and unique shops just steps away) because the inventory shifts so frequently. Lots of cute clothes every season, jewelry, scarves, leather hip bags, perfume, tarot cards, some crystals, decor. Crystals are on the pricy side but I think most everything else is reasonable. Edit to change to 4 stars and add that unfortunately as much as I love this boutique I have to almost always count on them opening late or not being open when I get there. I drove there about 2 weeks ago and they were still closed even an hour or so past when they should have been open from what I remember. Since I am driving from so far, I like to leave an hour before they're supposed to open (on Fridays or weekends) so I still have time for stuff later in the day - so I can't call ahead to make sure they're open. Driving a total 2 hours for nothing sucks, as I'm not always in the mood for anything else on that stretch. If this shop could be counted on to be open when I get there, rather than a 50/50 chance, I'd have...
Read moreMy sister and I recently visited and saw some items we wanted to purchase but when we went to the counter to pay the lady at the register looked like she was half a sleep or in a trance. It was very off putting, we didn't know what was going on, if the person was high, had a sleep disorder, or in a meditative trace. We put our items back and left. If they were half asleep then please don't work that day or ask your employer if you can leave early so that you can take care of yourself. We plan on returning to Penny Lane's some time soon in hopes to have a better experience and purchase the items we had taken interest in before. Everyone deserves a second chance and please, take care of your own health before working.
P.S. Please don't let this post keep you from shopping here, the prices were reasonable and the quality of the items are good. If you get the chance to...
